Denny's — Restaurant in Edinburg

If I had an option of -⭐ on everything I would have, but it doesn't.... If I was the owner I would have shut this location down and started hiring new people... So..... My family and I went for dinner, but ordered some breakfast. It was the worst experience ever. Let me start with the waitress (Cassandra) we ordered our food and I told her can we please get our pancakes after we finish eating our food she said ok but NOOOO.... So when our food was done it sat there for like 5 minutes on the food warmer rack then she decided to bring our food.. *the bacon was cold *the sausages links were crispy over cooked *my sons pancakes were crispy as well. (I know we should have walked out when I had seen our food sitting there for a while, but we were hungry). So while we were eating I saw the cook put our pancakes on the food warmer. I told my husband *I hope those are not our pancakes. We got done eating our food and I told the waitress that we were ready to have our pancakes. YUP they were our pancakes (pancakes sat on the food wormer for like 30 minutes and she had the AUDACITY to bring them *using her long sleeve shirt because the plates were too hot for her to handle and the pancakes were dry, hard and old looking. So my husband told her to touch them and she just said *I'll just bring you some new pancakes. I said *that is why I told you that CAN I PLEASE HAVE OUR PANCAKES WHEN WE ARE DONE EATING OUR FOOD!!!!! The whole time we were there I just kept on calling her out because she never came to check up on us for refills.

Honestly we will NEVER COME BACK TO THIS LOCATION EVER AGAIN!!!!! We would rather drive 30 minutes to go eat at another Denny's, knowing we will get better service...

My family and I normally visit this location late at night. Usually, there will be two - maybe three - customers there, so service is on point as is the quality of food. Today we visited during peak times (10:30 am on a Saturday).

Fortunately, we were seated quickly and the manager gave us menus and told us that our server would be with us shortly. About 3 minutes later, he walked by and asked if we had been tended to (which we hadn't), and he immediately got on the staff's PTT system to get someone to our table. The waitress was professional, friendly, and very accurate despite being bombarded with customers. Our drinks came out quickly and the food followed not too late. Again, despite it being at max capacity, the quality was as it always has been. The food was prepared with care and both looked and tasted great. My son and I had the Salted Caramel Banana Cream pancakes with the accompanying eggs, bacon, hash browns, and sausage. The eggs were cooked exactly as requested and the hash browns had the right amount of crisp to then. My wife had the slam sandwich (?) and loved it. The bread was toasted just fine and the ingredients were put together great as any proper sandwich should be.

On our way out, squeezing through the customers and waiting our turn to pay, the manager - despite being overwhelmed by outgoing and incoming customers - calmly asked us how everything was and took our payment without rushing us out. Needless to say, the entirety of the staff conducted themselves impressively well and it was an overall satisfying experience.

I visited this place on 11/27/2023 during the nighttime hours. The service is very poor and very inattentive. I had to wait about 7 minutes before I got waited on. The coffee was not ready and had to wait another 5 minutes before it was ready. When I finally ordered, the waitress didn’t know the information on the menu very well. When the food finally arrived, the sausage links were undercooked and sorta cold. The scrambled eggs were good but the bacon sucked. The toast was super hard and not very good. The waitress never came back to the table to check if I needed anything else. They had forgotten my pancakes with my order. They arrived late but were good. I had to ask for another cup of coffee from another waiter because my waitress never came back to ask if I wanted anything else. I was never given my tab, so I walked up to the counter to pay. I didn’t want to leave any tip because of the very poor customer service but I was taught different by my Mom but it was a very unpleasant experience dining here. I give this place and staff , a zero rating and definitely do not recommend this place. Not the Denny’s that I used to...
