El Taco Place — Restaurant in Edinburg

This used to named differently but I came anyway seeing as I hadn’t seen the name change banner outside. No matter the place was clean coffee served quickly. Over the preceding months I come once or twice a week to enjoy their large Menudo plate. Really don’t imagine it is made very differently than anyone else’s menudo but this place’s cook make it delicious. Corn tortillas with lime and menudo with fresh onions there is excellent. I’m hungry right now thinking of having a bowl. When I go I go alone as my wife (Mexican) thinks I eat way to much menudo. Besides really enjoying menudo and it is always dangerous to your clothing as I always have red speckled shirts when I leave.

Sometimes I’ll want something different. Machacado con huevos a la Mexicana con tortillas de maíz is excellent and their omelettes are good. Still I go there for their menudo.

We order special seafood soup, shrimp soup and menudo and all 3 tasted the same... all 3 tasted like if they had cooked with tap water combined with burned cigarrettes... my son order a parrillada and it literally had like 3 strings of fajita, 3 strings of chicken and a couple of hill country sausages and 1 lb of onion and bell pepper. They charge per tortilla which normally will come included with the food you order. One of the first customers on Sunday morning fajita and egg plate. Food got to the table with good timing, unfortunately i was served Reheated, very refried, dry, tough, and overly cooked fried fajita, with overcooked scrambled eggs.
