Los Compadres Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Edinburg

I walked into this place hoping S to get a decent meal. I looked over the menu. I could not decide what i wanted so i asked the waitress what the best thing on the menu was.

"Well everyone gets the special." Then she started telling me the special. I stopped her and asked her again.

"¿Que es la mejor cosa que sirven?"

She have me this look like either she did not know or did not want to subject me to anything. Not really sure. So i left.

Seriously if this is the way they do business it's no wonder it was the only establishment that was dead while the others had plenty of patrons.

Will never step foot in there again. And i will warn people not top go there either.

I was in the service industry for over 20 years and when it was dead the place was spotless. This place had at least 3 tables that were not bussed. Seriously? When visiting my family this is one of our go-to. It's nothing fancy but theor food is delicious. I always get the Compadres Plate as it gives you a taste of a few of their options, like barbacoa and menu do. The service is pretty great as well. The only thing we don't really like is that they allow individuals to come in and try to sell whatever they are selling. I mean, I have bought a few things but sometimes you just want to enjoy your breakfast without being interrupted like that. Went today at 2pm for lunch with my family. My mom ordered mole and they didn’t have any. Okay, it happens. So she ordered a plate of Mexican enchiladas and I ordered chicken enchiladas and my aunt ordered a Chile relleno. 10 mins later the waitress comes back and tells us they don’t have rice!!!
