Jason's Deli — Restaurant in Edinburg

It's a nice place to eat. And a good place to bring your family for some good food to eat. The cashier is very nice and friendly. The salad bar is pretty good but I felt it didn't have enough salad toppings to choose from. When dining in, there wasn't anyone checking on us to see if we needed anything and if everything was good. So no stars are earned here. And so no tip is needed for that matter. Even though they do ask for a tip at the cashier. Also the big dining tables felt kinda cramped up. When seated the table was too close to my chest. The menu sure has a lot to choose from. So overall it was good. The prices are kind of expensive tho. Just for half a sandwich and chips and a salad. And watch your food because if you turn your back on your dining table while you're away getting a refill or something, the guy there will assume that you are done eating and will throw away your food and drink. This location doesn’t seem to honor the curbside request. You’ll have to get out of the vehicle and go in otherwise your order is going to sit on the shelf and become cold.

Make sure to double check your order also. Twice in a row this location neglected to include the ranchero wrap or extra dressings that were paid for. Taste your tea before you leave too especially if you order unsweet.

I also have an issue with how they package the to-go orders. Example, I ordered soup. It was placed in a paper bag with a sandwich and spilled. Now I have less soup to eat but a stain on my car seat to clean. McAlister’s wraps their soup containers with plastic wrap.

I hail from the area where Jason’s Deli was established so I’ve been a fan my whole life. While the food might be consistent from one location to the other, unfortunately the service is not.

Nothing will ever top the old Central Mall Port Arthur location.

I came in for lunch because Jason's Deli is one of our family's favorite places to enjoy a good meal. Today was great until I visited the salad bar. The reason for a three star review regarding service was due to a young lady that must have been having a bad day because she made no effort to hide her negative mood. She cut off several people who were already in line serving their salads so that she could "refill" veggie bins that didn't need refills. She also removed the carrot bin as a guest was grasping it with tongs. I know I wasn't the only one who witnessed this and found it to be utterly rude. Every other team member was very kind and gracious. They were working hard and maintaining a happy disposition while busy with the rush hour lunch crowd. Team members are always very nice and respectful. My order was fresh and yummy. The tables, salad bar, and restrooms were clean, as usual.
