Don't waste your time and money in this place. They wanted to overcharge a sum of $150 for a USB Type-c port dock board replacement job. The usb type C- part costs $8 .... I get it. Customers pay for the time and work that the repair specialist puts into it.

But +$140 for labor?? I purposely came in pretending to not know what was wrong with the device to see if the salesman would bamboozle me. Sadly. I was correct.

All your doing is taking off the screen , unplugging the type - c port, and replacing it with another. NO SOLDERING NEEDED. Only reason why I came back to this place was because I supported this business since they opened 7 years ago. I was one of the first 5 star reviews this place has had. I definitely wasn't charged $150 for a 10-15 min job.

The salesman was mediocre. It took the salesman less than 3 minutes to come out from the back just to blur out: "$149 ... Yeah .. $149" , without context. Being short without explaining properly will make anyone feel like they're getting scammed. At least try to explain the cost or give a better price to retain a customer. I know things are tough but upselling a simple job won't help retainability and money flow for the business.

Also they're charging a +5% - 10% if you pay using card.

I advice anyone to pay no more than $60 for a job like this. Better yet, look up videos on how to replace the dock board port and save yourself $140. You can...

DO NOT take your phone here without making sure they give you an original part for your phone. My husband took my iphone and wasn’t told about the part not being original. My screen started lagging and not just I saw it but my family and friends. We made sure we’re not bringing business here! Went back and was told we had to pay $75 to remove the screen and it would be $120 more for the original part which honestly if we would’ve been told the two different prices we would’ve chosen the original to begin with. But they just assume everyone wants an aftermarket part! I see they reply to bad reviews but I don’t need you to reply to mine, I don’t need your input. Nothing you say will be any different than what it is!

I bought in my iPhone 6S in which just needed a simple screen repaired. Paid them $200 for a screen replacement. One week later it dies and the entire thing does not turn on or charge. I bring it into the Apple store to get it examined. Turns out that they harvest all the internal components and replaced them Chinese knockoffs. UNBELIEVEABLE. Apple would not touch anything that has been tampered. Of course Smart Phone Medic denies all this. I ended up having to buy a new phone at full price.

These guys have multiple locations. Avoid the Edinburg and McAllen Texas places just to name a few. I have read other peoples experiences where they did the same thing. They will rip you off and destroy your device with recourse. They need to...
