Cafe Gallo Pizzeria — Restaurant in Edison

I decided to try Cafe Gallo, so my parents & I had dinner there. Overall, it was a great experience, and I recommend it to anyone that wants some yummy Italian food. Carly was our server and she took care of us. She was friendly and brought us what we needed (more water, napkins, etc), without having to ask her for them. Her timing was perfect, because she brought all our food quickly, and took our used plates to make room for what's next.

The food is another reason why I recommend Cafe Gallo. The bread was tasty & light, which was perfect, considering all the food we ate. We had the Fried Calamari next and it was a great appetizer. We all had the house salad, with different dressings, and it got us ready for our entrees. I had the Chicken Francese with Penne, my Mom had the Shrimp Francese with Spaghetti, and my Dad ordered the Shrimp Scampi with Spaghetti. We loved them and we'll definitely eat there again.

Finally, Cafe Gallo has plenty of food options. Beyond the appetizers & entrees, they also have pizza, subs (hot & cold), wraps, desserts, and much more. If their other food is as great as what we ate, then you'll have plenty of tasty options to choose from. I ordered a grandma pie and what i got was a dried out and not at all a grandma pie. It didn’t have mozzarella or any tomatoe on it. Just dried up basil and some light tomato pie. According to them that’s how they make their grandma pies. Even tho everywhere on google and at other pizza places I’ve gone to I have never see a grandma pie made like that. So I suppose I’m supposed to be psychic and know they make it some odd way. Also when called to tell them this they said they would make another pie. Ordered a margarita pie and they asked for the first pie back in order for me to get the new pie. I have never in my life been asked to do this. So basically you messed up and in order for you to correct it I need to give you something back. Worst customer service and terrible liars. My husband, daughter and son gave me a surprise party at Café Gallo. We had the whole room to ourselves and everyone complimented us on everything from the service to the food and facility. The room was spacious with a soft Mediterranean ambience. The lighting was perfect, and there was enough room for the little kids to play. Carly was our waitress and she was amazing. She was always there when needed, worked quickly and carefully, and her pleasant manner was noted by several of the guests. The appetizers were plenty full and delicious, especially the eggplant roll a teeny, calamari, and stuffed mushrooms. The family style tilapia, the Parmesan, chicken, marsala, and pasta were highly complimented by our Italian family. It’s definitely the place to have the perfect party.
