Honestly, have been coming here for over a year and the quality of everything has declined significantly.
Unfortunately yesterday was our last straw .. we came to have a simple dinner ordered Bistek a lo Pobre, Sopa y una papa la huancaina .. everything was good until we checked our receipt and there was a huge discrepancy .. the Papa La Huancaina on the menu showed a price of $9 .. (typically this already is at a high price but we went for it either way.)
Once we were ready to pay we saw that the charge for the Papa la Huancaina was at $15 .. mind you this is a simple potato and sauce appetizer .. no meat, no poultry - just boiled potato. I immediately showed the waiter the price and he mentioned “that is what’s on the menu” pulled open a menu and what did he see to his surprise - the price at $9 , then opens another menus checks the price and it was scratched off, then a third menu which the price was at $10 , another one with the cost being $13 - wasn’t able to find the menu that showed the price of $15 .. then continued to say “well this is the price and the system knows it” .. COOL but the clients don’t therefore you are over charging $4-6 per each client ..
He proceeded to say well I’m sorry I’m new here i can’t do anything, due to another situation earlier that year (a waiter got aggressive and loud in front of a full restaurant towards me) I had the owners number and said I will call him directly .. no answer .. texted and still no answer ..
⚠️ I AM SIMPLY WARNING EVERYONE TO CHECK, DOUBLE CHECK, EVEN TRIPLE CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS & THE PRICES THEY CHARGE YOU VS THE PRICE ON THE MENU .. ⚠️

FRIED CALAMARI: Extremely well done. Yes, I needed to heat it up (6 minutes at 420F) to recover from the delivery. Two sauces. Green and Orange(ish). Green was fantastic. Tender and delicious.
CEVICHE DE CAMARON: This is my signature dish that I've tried every place (that comes to my attention) offering within 30 minutes of me (yes... I have driven 1 hour+ round trip for ceviche - sometimes more - and I do not regret it!) The overall "ceviche" presentation is good. Onion... sweet potato... lime/lemon juice... etc. The shrimp, however, was WAY off. Dry and chalky. I ended up throwing the shrimp away and just enjoyed the vegetable portion of the ceviche. I've seen this before... and am willing to bet that the shrimp was cooked separately (likely steamed) and then added to a standard ceviche offering (but who really knows... I've only sampled currently 123 (and counting) ceviche offerings in my life.) Anyway.... as a result... need to give them a 3-star. Read moreA third party delivery company (DoorDash) was gracious enough to refund and credit me since the driver had an emergency and never picked up my order. I was informed two hours later. I placed a NEW order and called the restaurant to speak with the owner and advise him of this NEW order and asked him kindly to remake it and not to send the order that was never picked up and sitting in the counter for hours. ( I want to make clear that BOTH orders were PAID for).
He was argumentative about it, and told me to just heat up the food but he finally "agreed". When I received the food, the fries were super dry but soggy from all the meat juice that leaked and the meat was cold. Also, the receipt had the time of the first order. I called to tell him and the owner yelled at me saying "I wasn't wasting food on you" and just hung up the phone. He basically just pocketed money from two orders for the price of one and was okay with sending me stale food. Terrible customer service.
I've had other bad experiences with them but this one was the last. Try Lima Restaurant in Sayreville if you live in the area. Amazing food and wonderful...
