Ok this is an completely honest review. First of all this was our 1st time here. We came here for a date night . Our server Juan was absolutely wonderful. He was attentive and welcoming. Our app we got the beef nachos. They were just OK. It was kind of like they just took a hamburger and chopped it up. The beef had no flavor and had no spices. We then got the churrasco skirt steak dinner and chicken fajitas. The steak we ordered medium it came out well. The manager offered to re make it for us and we declined. We just didn't want to wait . The manager was very nice and to our surprise at the end took the steak off our bill . The plantains were very tasty. The rice and beans we weren't crazy about. Honestly it was like a rice pilaf more then a Spanish rice. The chicken fajitas were very good. I loved the guacamole. Howeved didn't care for the tortillas. We finished with the fried ice cream which was disappointing. The out side coating was cold and soft. We were expecting it to be crunchy and warm. Honestly we probably won't be back. If it wasn't for the great service of our server and the manager I would have left 2 stars. Also I will say the garnish in the drinks were not fresh fruit. The orange and cherry in the old fashion was Cleary mush and old. IM EDITING TO ADD THAT OUR ARMS STUCK TO THE TABLE THE ENTIRE TIME! not because it was dirty . Because the coating was coming off the table. It felt disgusting

We walked into the restaurant and it was lovely and we fell in love with aesthetics and sadly that is what you are paying for. We sat for over ten minutes and my fiancé and I debated on walking out, i wanted to leave she wanted to say something and before we could come to conclusion some one came to out table. After that the server was great Mario was wonderful. We ordered and app QUESO FUNDIDO. It looked good but the execution was poorly done. We thought it looked greasy, given that its a cheese dish this is kind of expected. When we ate into it it was really watery and not at all greasy. we were not sure if that was a positive or negative, we attached picture as proof. Not sure why it was watery maybe from the tomatoes or onions but due to the water the dish had no flavor. All the Flavor sat in the water that is now at bottom of the dish. We ordered beef empanadas and Pull Pork burrito. The burrito was listed at 17$ which is very ambitious of any restaurant but i really wanted to try it and give this place a fair chance. I thought maybe the quality of the burrito would be amazing or the size for 17 dollars. I was wrong. the burrito was packed no more than a chipotle burrito. Pulled pork was cooked well but bland and had no seasoning and the rice was over cooked. for 17$ I expected the best burrito when burritos run typically $8-12. My wife Empanadas were terrible. The meat tasted as thought it was boiled or cooked in water. I don't know if they just cook the ground beef in a drum, in which the juice will drip down to the bottom of the drum/pot and we just got served the bottom of the pot beef sitting in grease. It was mushy, tasted as though it was cooked in water. The server was nice enough to ask if it there was an issue with it and the manager was kind enough to offer alternative solutions and took it of our bill but other than that this would be a one star review. When you charge a certain price for food, you raise the expectations. Mexican food is typically in expensive because the ingredients are in expensive. Considering the price i was hoping to love everything and i wish i went to Chipotle, Margaritas or Jose Tejas , where the price is more reasonable for the quality of food.

Went for the first time lunch Monday for my birthday with friends. We knew it would be busy since it was Presidents’ Day and people had off, so we went early at noon. I don’t know our servers name(maybe Alanna?), my friends wouldn’t let me see the bill since they paid. But she had blonde hair up in a clip and glasses, we sat in a booth by the bathrooms. But our server was really excellent! She was fast, everything came out correct, we got water refills without asking, and we were offered margarita refills when ours were half empty which is how it’s supposed to be and she was so on top of everything plus she was busy with tables all over the restaurant. The street corn hands down best thing of the day. The guacamole was good too. We thought the Al pastor and chipotle Mayo shrimp tacos were the best. Churros dessert was sooo good with the dark chocolate dipping sauce, and she even put a sparkler for my birthday. They had tajin rim for the jalapeño margarita which was delicious, and then I had a sweet coconut margarita which was good too(wish there was coconut flake rim that would’ve been amazing lol). But overall everything was great and we all worked in the industry at one point, and it is hard to find good service so I wanted to give her a shout out :)

After reading mixed reviews and a horrible experience at Margarita's when it was new, I was super hesitant about trying this place. It's still pretty new. I met a friend here and we agreed on outdoor dining. It was 5pm around 44 degrees. I was so happy to see a great outdoor setting with a long firepit 🔥 We started off with Elite de calle and beef empanadas. Presentation 👍 Flavor and texture 👍 Really good!! I got grilled fish tacos and short rib. The fish one was meh...not seasoned enough. The short rib one was SO good. Nicely seasoned and the shredded beef had tender parts and grizzled parts...yummy! My friend also got the short rib taco and also the chorizo and potato one. He really enjoyed both. Our server was so friendly and had such an upbeat energy. Neither of us were cold, the firepit was effective. No one else dined outside so if you're Covid Cautious, you'd feel safe. Considering their newness, they're doing their jobs really well! I will DEFINITELY come back for more. I'll be sure to tell my friends to try this place out 😜 Update: went back early December 2020 and was disappointed that the empanadas and tacos came out room temperature. Downgraded them a star. I'll likely give them another shot and see how it goes.

I'm appalled at the disservice I received today at this establishment. I ordered three tacos because according to their menu, "ALL TACOS SERVED ON FRESH MASA CORN TORTILLAS (GF)". I noticed they served me flour tortillas instead of corn and I should know because I grew up eating and making them. So I take them to the front desk and ask them to make me some with corn tortillas instead. The terrible waitress at the front desk (darker skinned with dark curly hair) assured me that the tortillas were in fact corn tortillas and they just "look and taste like flour" tortillas. I took that at face value and took the tacos back to eat. On the first bite I could tell that they were indeed flour tortillas. Since I am Celiac and can't have gluten, I will be suffering from that bite for the next couple of days. I attached a photo of the tortillas in question to show you what they looked like. No corn tortillas I've ever eaten look, taste, and feel like flour tortillas. Again, a Celiac would know since we have terrible substitutes for flour/gluten containing items like bread. That waitress should be fired and I should get a refund for this terrible service.

An amazingly memorable experience. The food at Tio is both challenging and accessible... each dish we sampled was delicious (we tried the habanero shrimp, elote, guacamole & trio of enchiladas) but also challenging, featuring complex flavor profiles that made us excited to come back to try more. The short rib we found a bit too sweet, but the pork belly is absolutely fantastic. That being said, the true star of the show was the drinks. The Smokey old fashioned is a fun "new" take on a tequila-based old fashioned, the rocks margaritas are all ample in their strength (stay away from the iced margs, a bit weak in comparison), and do yourself a favor and order a tequila flight. The Clase Azul was expensive, but well worth the experience. The clase azul mezcal is a special treat for those who might want to try an extended flight experience, and was unlike any "tequila" I've ever had, sharing more with a well peated Islay scotch than any tequila I've ever had. All around a great and memorable experience. Definitely worth our "on a whim" trip! Shout out to Mahin, who was a fantastic server and full of awesome suggestions!
