I have seen the future, and it is Hideaway . Placed a takeout order not long after 5 PM. Was told to come at 6:10 PM to pick it up. At 6:10, I circled the block for 20 minutes along with a number of other people who could never find a place in the designated Hideaway pick up places. It was 98° Outside and I ultimately parked two blocks away and walked to the restaurant and checked in. It was apparently only then that they decided to start making the pizza even though they acknowledged that I had ordered over an hour before. Waited it out in extreme heat for another 45 minutes along with a number of other people. Saw one woman become shaky from what I thought could be heat stroke. Let’s be reasonable. I don’t mind paying twice as much for pizza as competitors charge, — if i can get an actual pizza. Our political leaders have told us about the new normal. Now we must readjust our expectations and start expecting less. Hideaway Pizza is now the leader. I also felt sorry for the young crew members meeting people who were expecting to be receiving ordered pizzas. The young crew certainly didn’t deserve to be put in this position. The only amusing part was a 30 something man dressed in all black (apparently employed by HP) going from car to car with a clipboard. I don’t know if he was canvassing for the upcoming political runoff or was trying out his material for an upcoming appearance at the “Laugh Hole.” One thing for sure, he didn’t provide any pizza. By the time I was finally provided a pizza, (ordered almost 2 hours before), I didn’t even want it. I accepted it so not to hurt the feelings of the nice crew working in the heat. I hope they aren’t like Hideaway Pizza‘s...

Seating & Ambiance: There were incoming plenty of tables available for a Saturday evening. The vibrant blend of primary colors that Hideaway is fondly known for hang from their walls to ceilings in drawings, kites, and various other art work. It brings joy to the soul.
Customer Service: Upon entry, we were greeted with a friendly smile and immediately seated by a positive hostess. Our waitress was good and attended our table with a smile. In addition to the quality of the mozzarella cheese sticks being cooled down by the time they arrived, our pizza was brought to the table after I had advised a staff member of the delay. Note that it was more than 20 minutes after we had finished our cheese sticks. Side note: The Thunder had completed the 1st quarter during this time.
Quality of Food: Mozzarella sticks' cheese consistency was stiff, as if it were sitting out before having been presented to the table. The pizza was not as delectable as previous experiences. The menu has changed.
Overall Experience: While the waitress was kind, either she the kitchen staff, or both were behind in preparation and serving, especially for an unusually slow evening. Generally speaking, our previous experiences have ranged from good to great. This visit was neutral to below expectations. There are other options if you're in the mood for pizza. Would I recommend this place? Maybe, but what was my first choice is no longer my first choice in dining for pizza. I am...
Read moreAll around it's a great place to enjoy premium pizzas at premium prices. I've been enjoying Hideaway for a few decades now. I would like to say that my last curbside experience was not so pleasant though. After watching my pizzas hitting the ground coming out of the storefront I paid particular attention to how they were going to handle it as they took it back in. Sure nobody wants an upside down pizza but nevertheless I watched them place them in new boxes. That's fine, they must be alright I thought. Well here's where I became upset with the customer service. Naturally I asked the guy delivering them to me if the pizzas were okay. He lied to my face about them being dropped. I watched this guy through storefront give these dropped pizzas to the cooks in the back. I checked the pizzas, they were edible so no harm done. But please, for as little of a lie as you may think it is, it's still a mark against...
