Where do I begin? Johnnie's is legendary. I have been to almost every single location(including the ones that have sadly closed over the years), and each and every one is consistent and speedy. This location is my family's most frequented location. The staff has always been very friendly and very accommodating and the food is ready in 5 minutes or less.
Now, to the meal: the hamburgers are the best I have ever had. When you first look at the burger, it is visually appealing and larger than your standard burger. I always order mine with their signature shredded cheese, ketchup, pickles, and sometimes bacon if I am in the mood. By the way, they don't call it Johnnie's Charcoal Broiler for nothing. When you first bite into the burger, you can taste the flavorful char on the meat immediately. The taste of the beef will make you think of Burger King as nothing more than a bad choice. The shredded cheese complements the patty very well, and the pickles always add a extra bit of flavor. The French fries are very underrated too, as they have just the right amount of salt on them without making them too salty. Overall, a very delicious meal that will beat out any fast food restaurant in a landslide.
Johnnie's overall is the best place to get a hamburger in Oklahoma. It is family-owned, so you never have to worry about the poor quality, frozen food that standard fast food restaurants give. Johnnie's Charcoal Broiler will always be the place where I can create a great memory and a great...
Read moreI heard good things about Johnnie's so I gave it a try about two months ago. I got the Theta Burger with onion rings. The burger was quality and tasty, but I did not like the Johnnie's sauce. It's like putting spaghetti sauce on a cheeseburger, and they put a lot on. It was not my thing. However, I've been back two times since and got cheeseburgers without that sauce and liked them. Maybe if there was only a little sauce it would add to the experience, but I'm not sure. I love the shredded cheese they offer. Now on to the onion rings... if they just cooked them a little more and added some salt they would be perfect. But as is, they are very bready, they fall apart too much, and lack flavor. On a positive note they have come out hot each time I got them and the onions are large and of good quality. The first time I got them there were two in the bag that were more cooked than the rest, like they had accidentally been left in for two batches, and they tasted great! Johnnie's, please take note. I gave the onion rings three tries over the span of two months and each time same thing. All you need is to leave them in a little longer and add some more salt. Please. As it stands now I will be going to Freddy's any time I want onion rings. I plan to visit Johnnie's again and get a cheeseburger no Johnnie's sauce, and give their fries and shake a try. Hoping...
Read moreI've been going to the Edmond location at least once a week for the last six years. I am a Platinum member on the mobile app. But now there is a new manager at that location — a short, heavy-set woman with curly hair — who gives off the worst, anti-customer vibes. I overheard her making derogatory comments about me to another employee after I asked her for a modification to my order that three other managers gave me on several previous visits. I have never gotten anything but a warm, welcoming, eager-to-please vibe from every manager and employee at that location until she got there. And that night, she claimed to be the General Manage and said she'd been there since 2008. Yet, I had never seen her before in six years, and I see from Johnnie's Facebook page that Doug is the GM for the Edmond store and has been with the company 40+ years. I love Doug. He knows my aunt. He is the greatest gentleman. ..I sincerely hope that Johnnie's didn't replace Doug with this woman as GM. She is a disgrace. I don't care how hard she works in the back of the restaurant. She has no business dealing with customers. This woman makes me want to avoid...
