I've eaten here before and enjoyed it well enough, but tonight was the worst experience I've had. We ordered takeout through their online ordering at 5:55 PM. The order tracking said the food would be ready at 6:40 PM, which was understandable for a larger order (5 entrees) on a Sunday night. We arrived at 6:40 PM, but the waitress said our food wasn't ready yet. We waited 15 minutes before going up to the counter again to check on our order status. The waitress told me the food wasn't ready yet, but she would call out my name when it was. We waited on a bench for 50 MINUTES while countless other customers came in and left with their takeout within 5 minutes. I've worked in a restaurant, so I understand being behind or overwhelmed with orders, but it was clear that other people's orders were being prioritized over ours. There was no reason for us to waste an hour of our night sitting in the doorway of the restaurant while plenty of others got their orders when expected. When they finally called my name, they apologized many times and offered us free spring rolls, which was kind. When we got home and started eating, I found the food WAY too spicy. My mom and I both chose the soy sauce noodles with spice level 2 out of 5, but my mouth was burning with every bite I took. I had to switch meals with my sister who has a higher spice tolerance than I do because she ordered the pad thai which was not spicy. Overall, I was just disappointed with all aspects of this experience. Will not...
Read moreWe normally love going to Panang, but this time it took nearly 15 minutes for someone to even come and take her order. We ordered kids chicken strips for a three-year-old and the waitress said okay and brought back fried rice with chicken in it. Our waitress never returned after giving us our food. After sitting there for nearly 30 minutes without being served even water, i stood up and saw our waitress was on her phone in the corner, so I had to get up and ask for the check. We told them we just wanted chicken strips and asked if they could take the fried rice back and not charge us for it, since obviously we did not want or ask for fried rice. They basically said it was our fault and that we need to be more clear. After arguing for about five minutes she finally said she would take it off this time, but next time we need to be more clear on what we want. I told her that the waitress who was serving us said okay when we ordered chicken strips and she said well it’s obviously stated on the menu that it’s fried rice. I told her they need to be more clear and she continued to insist that it was my fault. Even though the waitress said okay to order chicken strips. I’ve never had so much sass and disrespect from a restaurant and definitely won’t be returning to this Panang5 location. Also, it should be known that this was at 4:30pm and we were the only people in the restaurant. I guess if you’re the only ones there, they just forget...
Read moreVery Disappointing Experience – Misleading Hours and Rude Staff I came to this restaurant on a Saturday night at 9:30 PM with my family, including two small kids, expecting to dine in since their hours are clearly posted as open until 10:00 PM on both Google and the front door.
To our surprise, we were told we could not dine in because they had already cleaned up. We offered to eat in takeout containers just so our kids could sit and eat comfortably after a long 1-hour drive, but they still refused. There was zero flexibility or concern for our situation.
One staff member, a guy with bleached hair, was especially rude—no greeting, no apology, just dismissive comments like “You should have gone to the other location.” When I mentioned the posted hours, he brushed it off and said he'd tell his uncle (the owner).
We were made to feel like an inconvenience. The staff were unwelcoming, and the same employee even looked angrily at my wife, which was completely out of line. On top of all this, the food was rushed and tasteless—clearly thrown together just to get us out the door.
If you’re going to close early, update your business hours. Don’t mislead families and treat them like a burden. Not returning. Not...
