Unfortunately, this was not an ideal experience and we will not be dining here in the future. Our server did not write down our orders, which would be fine, however there were mistakes. These mistakes caused half of our parties order to come out first. Therefore, the dish that was correct was cold by the time it was eaten, as we actually wanted to eat at the same time. Also, there was cheese ALL OVER a dish that didn’t have cheese listed on the menu. We are both lactose intolerant so you can imagine the disappointment. We notified the server of all of the above inconveniences. He half heartedly apologized but provided no discount or other form of rectifying the situation. Paying over $40 for a meal that was incorrect, inedible, and cold is very discouraging. Do not recommend this establishment to anyone looking to be treated properly by staff or served edible and warm food as ordered. Very disappointed locals Additionally, after paying, the assumed manager came up to “apologize”. She initially stated she would’ve discounted had she known before we paid. I informed her that I did let our server know before the bill was even given to us, stating that their staffs lack of communication should not cost me. She then got aggressive and stormed off while continuing to speak across the restaurant passive aggressively to me. This was embarrassing and awful business practice. In regards to us wanting to eat hot food at the same time she said “so this impacted our lives so greatly” Unprofessional, disrespectful, and beyond disappointing! In response to the reply below. You did not offer to cover our breakfast. You stated that you would’ve covered it had you known before we paid. Which you would have, had your employee communicated with you. Are you suggesting we head back your way for a refund? We are still in Edwards and only live right down the...
Read moreHad breakfast at Cafe 163 this morning after skiing at Vail yesterday. It was crowded and the staff was struggling to keep up with a nearly full restaurant at about 11:30am. The bartender who also had a full bar of 6 patrons eating was particularly overworked as they have a number of coffee drinks on their menu that require a number of steps and she was juggling it all, including greeting patrons with a happy "Hey there!" when they came in. There were only a few other servers and a couple young hostesses / bussers. The service, as mentioned above, was a little slow, but it was well worth the wait as the food was excellent and when the restaurant went down to 70% the staff was a well-oiled machine. Not to mention that having to wait a little actually gives you time to relax.. a feature often lost today. The building, atmosphere and staff were excellent, as was the dark-roast coffee. Try their biscuits and gravy (amazing!) and their eggs benedict! We will be searching them out again as our regular spot when in the...
Read moreHORRIBLE!!! Went in for breakfast on Sunday October 5, 2014. My breakfast came with HAIR cooked into my scrambled eggs! DISGUSTING. The waitress took my meal back to the kitchen, then brought the same plate back, minus the hair. REALLY?? You expect me to eat that? Further, the toast that came with the meal was the two TINY end pieces from the loaf, barely enough to form one piece of toast. Then, they had the nerve to present me with a bill for my guests breakfast and two cups of coffee. TOTAL: $17.45, for one entree and coffee. NO APOLOGY, NO ATTEMPT TO FIX THE PROBLEM!!! The final insult comes when the waitress, terrible service by the way, brings my change with a dollar bill torn off at both ends, totally unusable. I left it for her tip, which was more than she deserved. BAD FOOD, BAD SERVICE, BAD MANAGEMENT AND TOTALLY OVER PRICED. STAY AWAY...
