Donāt waste your time. We were quoted 45 minutes to an hour to be seated. Our party happily walked across the street for a few drinks and returned an hour and 15 minutes later (after trying to find a phone number to even get in touch with the restaurant - they donāt have one, by the way) only to find out that they donāt have a table for us and that they likely wouldnāt, as they were closing early. After a nasty experience with the host throwing out excuse after excuse, rather than trying to solve the problem, we asked to speak to the manager. After explaining the situation and our frustration that our night was now ruined (as most places in Edwards close at this time and we were a party of 9) the manager just smiled and nodded, not at all sorry for the experience we had (as if it was comical). After asking him what we expect him to do, we told him it would be great if he could give us a few pizzas to go, now that we wouldnāt be able to find a place to eat. He smiled and swiftly said āhave a great nightā and then proceeded to walk away. Best of luck to this restaurant. We will never be returning and neither will any of our local friends. What a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreil Mago is by far the best pizza Iāve had in the valley!!
Coming in to il Mago, I was welcomed by the staff and sincerely felt at home after passing through their doors.
For my first time in I sat at the bar near the expo line and watched dish after dish roll from the kitchen to the floor while the chef inspected each one individually. Everything looked exquisite.
To drink I kept it simple and had a glass of red, but the cocktail menu looked to be filled with well-rounded and interesting cocktails as well as a nice beer selection. Both bartenders were kind to boot. Grade-A service, pal, and guy, respectively.
For food, I got the broccolini to start. It was spiced right and cooked to perfection.
For the main course I ordered the mushroom pizza with duck confit. I donāt know if any pizza will suffice in the future. It was wildly good, well built and equally well-executed. Kudos and props!!
Not to be too wordy, il Mago is the place for pizza in Vail valley. I cannot wait to try their companion restaurant, The Craftsman. I will be there the next time Iām in the mood...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI come here every so often and donāt dine in but takeout at happy hour because I love their margarita pizza and itās always been great except today. I will usually order my pizza for takeout and sit down with a soda while I wait and get the happy hour discount because itās happy hour TIME not because of what I order or if I takeout vs dine in. Today I was denied a happy hour discount which made my $12 pizza a $19 pizza. I have never had a problem except today. Itās called HAPPY HOUR for two reasons: because the low prices make you happy and because of what hour you come⦠NOT how much you order or spend or if you dine in or takeout. If I keep being refused a happy hour discount I may...
