I have posted a lot of reviews online and I very, very rarely give a negative review so please take my warning about the way this restaurant does business very seriously. My warning to anyone making a reservation here is to not provide you credit card in advance. The management here cannot be trusted. We placed our reservation through our hotel concierge. On the day of our reservation my wife called to reschedule, after being placed on hold were were told the date and time we wanted was not available so were were forced to just cancel. 5 days later, the restaurant charged our amex $450. My wife immediately called to inquire why we were just charged and the man on the line stated it was a no show fee. My wife tried to explain to him that we called and cancelled the reservation but he proceeded to argue with her telling her they had no record of the cancellation. My wife then gave me the phone and I tried to explain that I was right there when she called in and again the man argued with me on the phone arguing that he lost revenue. As a business owner myself, I am sympathetic to the losses of revenue experienced by most businesses, but we did the right thing, we cancelled our reservation and we cannot be held responsible for their loss of revenue. In addition, it is wrong and even criminal for them to charge our card $450 after we cancelled our reservation. I argued with the man, I explained to him that I would be forced to file a dispute with Amex (Which I have never had to do before) and his response was that I should go ahead and file the dispute. My recommendation to anyone reading this is DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THIS RESTAURANT. They cannot be trusted with your credit card information and they cannot be trusted to do the...
Read moreI got married at Zino in 2013 (that staircase was MADE for a grande entrance!) so I might be slightly biased but this is the best restaurant in Edwards. The food is always delicious and the menu evolves from season to season with slight changes made to favorites to keep them fresh and seasonal. It's the perfect spot for a date night or girl's night and the space is diverse enough to meet your needs. Ask for seating downstairs for something more romantic or enjoy a spot in the lounge for something more lively and casual. The variety on the menu allows for different options based on budget and appetite too. Order a salad and pizza to share and focus on the incredible wine selection if your appetite is smaller, or go whole hog and get several apps and a delicious entree. Come ready to share your plate as "order envy" is inevitable with all of the tasty options. Chef Nick always delivers!
If you are lucky enough to live here year round (thank you, thank you) Zino does incredible off-season deals with prix fixe menu offerings for a multi-course meal, which gives you the chance to overindulge on items you've been holding out for all season long. Buon Appetito!
The bocce court and outdoor patio in the summer is the perfect spot for early dining with kids, or bring a wrap or sweater and enjoy the longer hours of sunshine well into the night while listening to the Eagle river roar past outside. The team at Zino including Giuseppe and Bekah are incredibly friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable and helpful. Highly,...
Read moreUPDATE: Just went back for the 2nd time and had similar experience as the 1st. Wait staff had similar lack of care or interest, and service was extremely slow. Also they DO NOT HAVE A/C. It was 89* outside and the inside was much much hotter, mainly due to the exposed kitchen in the dining area. It was so hot that we left before we ordered food. It’s hard to believe they actually don’t have A/C, but, that’s what the wait staff said. I’m surprised people continue to come here, but it is usually rather packed. Perhaps out-of-towners that don’t know the difference. But I will say, if all other restaurants reservations are full in Avon/BC/Edwards, this place usually has an opening. My experience was not like the others that reviewed. For a restaurant this expensive, I was surprised with how basic the customer experience was. It felt like we didn’t have a specific server, but a constant flow of different wait staff, which made ordering inefficient. Service staff was also not very friendly. Also, we got ‘played’ on the wine when we asked for recommendations. We initially asked for house wine (which they do not have) and asked for the next best thing. However, they recommended a wine that was priced above other wines, which we found out when the bill was received. For the price paid, I will not be going back nor...
