The Hibachi Chicken & Steak Combo was a masterclass in balance—juicy, caramelized meat with just the right char, paired with fried rice that was savory and aromatic. Appetizers like the Shrimp Tempura (A8) were flawless, featuring an airy, crisp coating and plump shrimp, while the Kani Salad (A9) offered a refreshing contrast with its creamy, delicate texture. The Salmon Bento Box (B6) showcased their commitment to freshness, with tender, perfectly cooked salmon and well-seasoned sides. Even their Poke Bowls (particularly the Salmon Poke) stood out with premium fish, vibrant toppings, and harmonious flavors.

What truly impressed me was the takeout execution—each dish arrived hot, neatly packaged, and visually appealing, as if it had just left the kitchen. The menu’s thoughtful customization options (like swapping noodles for rice) and clear allergy warnings further highlight their dedication to customer satisfaction.

To cap off the meal, their Lotus Natural Energy Drinks are a must-try. The Blue Lotus and Purple Dream blends were uniquely refreshing, with floral and fruity notes that provided a revitalizing boost without artificial aftertastes. A treasure of gastronomical delights has opened in The Gateway Shopping Center in Edwardsville, PA.

Over the past few months the owners of Sanji Hibachi have occupied, remodeled and in general have worked wonders in a shop front at The Gateway.

This past Monday Sanji Hibachi opened without advertisement or fanfare and already people are beginning to notice.

Sanji Hibachi offer a simple Japanese inspired menu of some of the most delicious meals this reviewer has had.

What they do is fresh, hot, and tasty in all of their entree's.

Upon arrival I immediately ordered the chicken Hibachi entree combo. The chicken was hot, delicious, the veggies were cooked perfectly and the fried rice was high quality.

I don't know if I have the correct vocabulary to express how mind-blowing the food really is.

The restaurant is modern, convenient, clean and all new.

They have specialty Boba drinks, a niche thing but again freshly made in house and remarkably fresh and thirst quenching.

If you like Japanese cuisine. If you like Bento. If you like Anime. Come and pay Sanji Hibachi a visit.

If you love eating at a sit-down Hibachi restaurant but doesn't want to pay that crazy price, this new spot is for you! minus the entertainment lol But the food here is even better and packed with flavorrr with a great amount of selection in their menu.

The chef is very experienced as he's worked in a Hibachi setting for years so you can tell he knows his stuff! They also believe in serving quality foods for an affordable price and it definitely shows cause the food I ordered was FRESH! (I ordered the steak w. fried rice and Salmon Poke.)

I love the vibe of this restaurant. It's bright and modern with a touch of anime lol so if y'all are into anime, check this place out! 😆 It's obviously a new restaurant so it's definitely clean but you can tell the owners are naturally very clean by the way things are kept neat and organized. Check out their bathroom cause WOW! They really put their all in this restaurant.
