I usually love this place. I always get the katsu curry when I'm too lazy to make it at home or am out and about cravin comfort food. I don't know who was on cooking duty today because the curry was NOT the usual. I know they use S&B curry (a Japanese brand) or one like it, but this curry was nothing close. It was watery and tasted like ginger. No flavor, not a rich sauce, no salt, nothing, I only tasted ginger. They basically gave me a slightly thickened ginger water with my fried chicken. The color was off too it was green not the usual color but I decided to give it a try since looks are deceiving. Only gave 2 stars because they completed my request on giving me double white rice and the rice was nice and fluffy. Never coming back though.. they weren't busy and as far as I know, I was nice to them and they were nice to me so I'm sure it was an issue with the kitchen and nothing malicious. It's terrible as I haven't been able to eat all day because of working...
Read moreI usually LOVE L&L, but just not this location. The chicken was burnt and very dark. So dark we thought it was our beef plate. Newp, was the chicken. The macaroni salad also tasted a bit off and gave my daughter a stomach ache. They must not have alot of help here because we were waiting inside for a minimum of 30 minutes. The location by my house is always busy and we never wait that long for food and the food is always tasty and cooked to perfection. On a non food note- girl that takes the orders unlocked the restroom for a male customer, brings the key back to the register area and 3 min later another female worker grabbed the restroom key and entered the restroom right as the male was getting ready to exit. The register girl did not bother to tell her she let someone in the bathroom. The guy would've been exposed to the guests waiting for their food if she would've entered 1...
Read moreI am a huge fan of L&L Hawaiian barbecue. My personal favorite is the one in Walnut. Anyone want to guess why that is? Well it is actually very simple, they change their damn oil often enough to maintain the wonderful quality of their chicken katsu to keep it golden crisp, juicy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. I have tried the chicken katsu in this location several different times since I moved to the area two years ago. Every single time the chicken is trash, I could probably cook better tasting chicken using my truck's old motor oil. Hopefully someone will read this and next time I decide to give them perhaps one final chance, they'll get it right. I go Karen once every 10 years and only when the situation is dire enough. This atrocious chicken is...
