The owner is a nice person, but I am renting a room, which it needed some repairs. Bathroom fans must be all connected because cigarette smell was in the room every time I was gone for 3 to 4 hours and I would have to ventilate the room and run the fan for 15 to 20 minutes so I can breathe comfortably. The breakfast is nothing to really consider when booking here unless you like to have an apple or pancake or muffins with milk or juice or coffee for breakfast. There's a restaurant next door for breakfast which will set you back about an additional $12 to $14 per person daily for breakfast (but not all you can eat like at a hotel) we were 4 total so it costed me $53 daily on top of the $75 room rate. I asked for an additional 2 sheets and 2 blankets, the front desk gentleman ran to the laundry room and came back with just 2 blankets because they don't have any spare clean sheets at 11:30 pm. They do have a working elevator and a fairly nice decorated rooms with an ok/fair beds. Very good location as it's close to many things but it will get noisy very early because of the traffic to the freeway. Around 11:08 am an Indian lady came to the room and just walked in without knocking and I had called 40 minutes early and asked for an extra 15 minutes past 11am which the owner Abdul said that's ok, then she said sorry and waited outside the room while we took all our luggage out It felt not comfortable at all as if we were...
Read moreWhen I checked in I noticed the no pets but I have a service animal for PTSD from the military and for epilepsy and I check with my veterans. Id I asked the guy bout the no pets cause I have a service e animal he said service animal is ok later I get a call from a bored front attendant guy telling me I can't read and I didn't tell them about the pet when service animal is on my reservation cause I can read and I don't go to hotels who don't accept pets am far from under education ya know more education than front desk I can tell ya that much but the checking guy was feat the next on shift needs to not lie about listening to audio when I am clear about my service animal no matter where I go ever and I know how to read and I felt really offend by him calling me before really fact checking and think before he calls people telling them basically they can't read the sign is in the desk I can clearly see it and later for him to say I mention something after the fact he just told me no pets are allowed and he don't see that I checked in with a pet wow I would be hiding her don't ya think so make sure you tell it to the roof tops about your service animal other than that guy trying to ruin my night everything was great what did he expect me to check out. No buddy I read everything fully before renting hotels when I travel he needs better...
Read moreI stayed here in the Super 8 motel in el Cajon for a week. I would say after watching motel in operation for a week there is a large problem with drug addicts and prostitutes. Every day every night. I ended up leaving out of fear of robbery or mugging. This place is in a very rough area. I would imagine a lot of these issues are beyond super 8s control. Needless to say I won't be staying anywhere in el Cajon ever again, and I will shudder anytime I must pass through the town.
The room staff and office staff are more than helpful and polite. The rental manager was very willing to work with me on adjusting my stay several times and was willing to make last minute accommodations.
The cleanliness of the motel is beyond my expectation however the fridge in my room smelled like barf after I unplugged it due to it running all night and keeping me awake. Might want to routinely defrost/bleach your refrigerator units from now on.
Local dining and attractions were convenient with a quaint breakfast cafe right out in front. I hope this review helps any that are considering staying here. Know what you are getting yourself into and bring plenty of...
