I visited the El Cajon location on 11/18/18 at around 3:30 pm. The girl working the drive thru was horrible. First she got my order wrong and when I told her and gave it back to be fixed she tried to tell me that I didn't order it that way. She said "you must have said that in your head" I called her a B!@#$ and said that I never have a problem with my order when ordering with Shirley Ann. She then told me "Maybe you should cook at home" when I told her that I would if I had a home she said "you are homeless? You should get a job. " I then told her that she don't know my situation. I have a job. The truth is I actually have 2 jobs one of which is the #1 catering company in San Diego. I am also a server at a very well known restaurant in La Mesa. If I spoke to my guests like she did me, I would most definitely loose my job. Yes I am currently residing in a motel only because my family and I have been FORCED out of my home of 15 years (the only place my children have EVER lived) due to them wanting to remodel. How do you employ people that are so rude? I can't even tell you the girls name because she wasn't even wearing a nametag. (Isn't that part of the uniform??) The name on my receipt said Hector and I highly doubt that is her name. This girl is seriously single handedly killing your business, telling customers to cook at home.
I would however like to end this by saying.. I do frequent this place and almost always have Shirley Ann, and she is your rockstar!!! Always friendly and polite. I love her. She is the one that keeps me coming back otherwise you would have lost a...
Read moreWe used to live this place, but the last 3 visits have been less than pleasant. While their food is tasty and very well priced, their service is not! There was no inside service available. The doors were locked and no sign or any explanation given, with only drive-thru possible. Since tamales were new to us on the menu, and one of our favorites , we wanted to try them. After many garbled questions and answers later, we finally decided to try both types offered. 2 tamales to an order. At the window was a girl with no smile or any further help. We paid, and she handed out our food silently, even tho we thanked her. The food was delish!! But no napkins! We went back thru for more to take home. She was a little more friendly, and did put napkins in this time. Next night I called to see what the Fiesta pack was about. What kind(all pork), and cost. Several people got on the phone to give me answers. I was told $22 for 12 tamales. Very fair. Chile/hot sauce only was included. Each in their own foil wrapper and heated, ready to eat. At the window again, we were charged a price of $3 more plus tax. They had no apology or explanation for the mix up in price. Glad for the food, but sorry for...
Read moreEdit: It's been about a year since I came back to this location, and not much has changed. The food still tasted 2 days old, and the service was average at best. DON'T COME HERE!!
Original Review: I was waiting a little bit in the empty restaurant for someone to take my order, I placed my order and waited over 5 mins. Someone new came and asked if I had been helped. I told them my order, and he promptly got it ready. Made me wonder how he put it together in 30 seconds, but no one else did for 5 mins.
Anyway, I ordered tacos. I said for here, but got my food in a bag with no napkins. At the table, not only did the ingredients spill out everywhere on the table and floor with every bite, the taco shell tasted 2 days old and not good.
I asked for napkins, and one employee asked another employee to get me some. Instead, he got napkins and mistakenly brought them to someone else in the back.
The first employee suddenly became "unbusy" and handed me napkins with an annoyed look on her face. No apology, just a quick "here you go" gesture, and then "disappeared".
Not sure I'll be returning...
