Fair to mediocre food in a chaotic, disorganized environment.
I recently visited BJ's after about 5 years of constantly driving past their sign on I-10. In my previous experiences, I remembered enjoying myself, so I decided to treat myself and stop in.
I was greeted with a friendly smile by the hostess Michelle, who showed me to my table in a friendly and helpful manner. She was a delight to speak to. I was sat at a booth, which the seat was full of crumbs and the floor was filthy as well. Our server was friendly, though I forgot his name.
I ordered the BJ's favorite pizza, and to my surprise it wasn't very appealing. The crust was chewy and thick, almost as if it hadn't been cooked all the way through. There wasn't much sauce on the pizza either. I felt like the ratio of dough to toppings and sauce heavily favored the dough. One of the determining factors in coming here was the pizza because I remember liking it, though I was quite disappointed with this visit.
Another thing to mention was that I was confused because I couldn't tell what vibe they were trying to embody. Some servers were wearing jerseys while some weren't. There were football games on the TV's, and fans were cheering loudly, but I came here under the assumption that it was a brewhouse and not a sports bar.
Overall, I was generally dissatisfied by how filthy the place seemed and the general quality of the food for the prices. Plates and empty dishes were scattered at every computer station, the booths were full of crumbs, and the floor was filthy. The food quality was mediocre, especially for the high priced items. I was however satisfied with the customer service. My server and the hostess were both very pleasant. I left here with a strange feeling, not really knowing how to feel from a...
Read moreWhat started as a hopeful evening of a few drinks and some good food with my Wife whos birthday we were celebrating and our son and his wife. We knew they would be busy and had reservations for 6pm. This 45 minutes of a pathetic display quickly deteriorated into a complete s* show. A Swift walk by greeting then 10 min later server came back for the drink order. Which we promptly ordered our appetizers, salads, and Entree orders at the servers rushed request. Since we had than enough time to decide We did so. Then he vanished. We had to ask another server for straws and flatware Since ours happened to be MIA. Salads hit the table 15 min after the order Apps were 5 min later and then 5 minutes after that our 4 entree landed. Following this spectacular start to the seemingly never ending dumpster fire, 3/4's of the Entrees to include 2 orders of the prime rib and an order of Salmon were room temp cold including the veggies for all 3 dishes. The "Au jus" they serve for the prime rib is nothing more than watered down beef broth. But hey if you get the burger that will at least have a semblance of a temperature slightly above someone actually giving a f*. Packed up our food and got the hell out of there knowing that had we sent anything back a scene from the movie "Waiting" was sure to take place. Based upon the service and quality we had seen at that point.
Save yourself some cash and just toss in a Hungry man dinner in the microwave at home at the least it will be hot and probably taste better. You have been warned. Go some where else probably...
Read moreBJ’s- what was once considered a semi high end restaurant has not only left a bad taste in my mouth, it has managed to not leave one at all. Waited one hour to order, on a Tuesday, with only one section open; not busy at all. Our waitress would disappear without checking in, took our order between thirty minute intervals and then would proceed to disappear again. When we finally got our food, it was cold. I wish I could say I could’ve brought this up to staff sooner but even trying to get the managers attention was lack luster. The “manager” proceeded to go to our table and before I had time to explain my concerns he was already ready to walk away, zero eye contact, zero apology, zero comprehension and empathy. What was supposed to be a cute date night for me and my partner turned into the worst dining experience in our lives. Left with a 50 dollar bill until I explicitly had to state that I was not going to pay for some items on my bill as they too had arrived cold. BJS has 37 locations in Texas and many more throughout the nation, I would hope your staff and management are far more attentive and kind moving forward. I would hope that our kind manner in trying to get better service only to leave hungry and with a 50$ bill gets this establishment to better themselves. I am severely dissapointed in the service, cleanliness and manner that the situation was handled. The manager does not care what your complains are, he is ready to leave out the door to disappear into nowhere to do absolutely nothing. If I could give zero...
