I am a service dog and disability advocate. Recently I was asked to help educate a business that someone happen to have an access issue at.
It started out a little rough. I went to educate by myself with my friend Cait sitting at the table and then was joined by other handlers later. My sugar was dropping and I was having a little trouble speaking and I started to shake. But in the end we were able to communicate and have a great resolution and everyone left happy. We even took pictures together with the owner/manager.
Poor guy felt like he was being attacked at first, and I understood because I was not the only one that apparently came to educate. And I get the feeling that others who came before me were not very nice about it. I tried to explain to him I wasn’t there to attack him that I was there to educate and advocate for not only the disabled individual but his rights as a business owner. I let him to know I didn’t want to see him get in trouble legally and I didn’t want him to get sued. We discussed the laws and I let him know the 2 legal questions and what he could legally do so pet owners don’t take advantage of him.
In the end it was a positive experience and we will definitely be back because their food is amazing! 3 words... Sweat Potato Fries!
If you’re ever in El Paso check it out!
Service dog handlers, always remember to try and remain calm and collected and avoid threatening the business whenever you have an access issue. Trust me I know it’s hard especially when you’re being denied access. Educating always works better when you...

Stepped in for lunch with my wife and son. Parking isn't bad. Place is clean, seating is picnic table style but roomy, chairs are acceptable, lighting is good, ambiance is decent- not audibly loud, menu's are easy to read. Took 25 minutes to get our order. When I got up to ask for a time frame on the food, my order was sitting on the counter. I believe it just came out when I asked because the food was the correct temperature. Tried the double cheese burger w/Carne asada fries. My burger was overcooked. High quality veggies / condiments and bread on the burger - just the meat wasn't juicy. Carne asada fries were very in the middle. Seasoned properly and toppings were good quality - heavy on the lime for my taste. Food is served in plastic baskets w/paper liner. Would recommend foil as paper breaks apart when wet if you're getting fries with wet toppings. Beverages are refillable, soda was carbonated properly, ice was good quality. Cups were clean - no funny smell.
Overall - Somewhat disappointed with the food given the price ($22 per person - for burgers). Experience was very in the middle, left a lot to be desired. I've heard of this place when it was a food truck, sadly there is no passion in the food. Burger is the star of the show and it just wasn't there. I don't mind paying the premium, but if that cost doesn't translate to the experience, this ensures folks will not be returning. This is a...
Read moreThis place is a bit dark and has trendy bar decor with lots of polished wood and metal chairs. The tables are fairly small, seating no more than four people per table, but the staff was accomodating to our larger party and helped us move two tables together. They serve all different kinds of alcohol here, and have several beers on tap. My husband got the ahi tuna burger, I got the green chili burger (modified with a second patty and extra cheese). Because it was my first time there, I got two different types of fries (half seasoned and half sweet potato fries). The burger was perfectly cooked and I loved the sweet potato fries. They were among the best I've had. The chicken nuggets my daughter got were a bit overcooked, but her fries were perfect. The seasoned fries taste as though they have Tajin or a similar seasoning salt with lime on them. I didn't care for the seasoning, but my husband did. He also got carne covered fries (they had cheese and meat on them) and he said they were the best part of his meal. The tuna burger was cooked to the perfect doneness and my husband enjoyed it. However, it was a bit smaller than my husband expected. I would recommend this place for smaller groups and casual...
