Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen — Restaurant in El Paso

Cheddar's used to be one of my favorite places to go to. The ambience is loud, as is with most restaurants, but its a fun environment. There is a lot of movement, which is also typical with how it has always been. The servers are nice but now more so, forgetful with a lot. It seems like every time I go now, something is either not on the menu, currently not being served, or is in limited supply. I understand scratch kitchens are making everything from "scratch" as their name implies, but their waits are always crazy long, food takes forever to come out, and I always end up having to substitute my choice of sides because they are, as I mentioned, out or currently don't have it. The food quality has also gone down. I understand that the pandemic has caused a lot of changes to occur, however when did sacrificing quality over quantity become a flag for this place? I took my family a couple weeks ago, right after Christmas and the ribs were not fall off the bone as they used to be and as the waiter claimed them to be. Not to mention, their iconic chicken strips were not even completely tossed in buffalo sauce like we asked. The breading was practically missing from the chicken. Anyways, I guess when you're hungry, you're hungry, but for the price they are charging, I think management needs to reconsider the quality of their products and the performance of their cooks and staff. I am not usually this critical with my postings, but it is just disappointing when somewhere we used to enjoy going to as a treat, especially for the price, has become simply a typical food chain and not a "treat" for food made from scratch. I hope to return soon expecting some change and improvement, but it might be a while before I reconsider. Let's hope my cravings for their butter croissants can be the nudge I need to...

My daughter and I were traveling from Beaumont, Texas to Phoenix, Arizona on 02/22/23. We were so tired, so when we walked in the hostess asked how many, booth or table. There was going to be a 20 minute wait, so we’ve was asked if we could sit at the bar? She was like yes ma’am you sure can. So, we proceeded to the bar. There were 6 people already at the bar. We sat down and was greeted RIGHT A WAY! Eric, asked our drinks and we just wanted Dr. Peppers, we were driving to Phoenix when we left. He asked if we want any apps, my daughter ordered spinach dip and I ordered 3 croissants. We were also ready to order our entrées also. We both ordered the chicken tenders. He placed our orders and was very engaging with us & also the other people at the bar. About 10 mins go by, here comes Eric with our food. ALL OF IT. He was like, I hope it’s ok that I brought everything? We were yes, we forgot to tell you to do that. Then I got my croissants. We are so much food.

We just want to let you know that ERIC WAS AWESOME!! Please give him a free meal, for chatting with us and making us feel welcomed. ((We looked ROUGH, we had been on the road since 8am and we am had dinner about 8:30pm. We got a few stares. lol!)) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I don't know what has happened to Cheddars but today their service and the food was HORRIBLE!! First, there was no hostess to sit us. We stood there and waited for about 7 minutes till someone came from the back. When we were finally sat, we waiting 15 minutes before anyone came to take our drink order. We ordered an appetizer and it came before our drinks did. We were almost done with the appetizer when our drinks finally came. WTH?? When we got our drinks, the server, with the huge unpleasant attitude got our drinks wrong. When our food eventually came out, that was incorrect as well. Upon bringing these issues to the manager, he was very apologetic, however, he was not too apologetic as we were not compensated for the horrible service and food. Our server had the WORST attitude since he saw me speaking to the manager. Somebody needs people skills training Randy, Sandy, whatever your name was. You were HORRIBLE!!! I have never had a bad experience at this establishment until today. Needless to say, we will not be going back any time soon. Word to the wise, if you get Randy, or Sandy whatever his name is as a server, ask to be moved. He...
