We had a very uncomfortable experience on [April 1]- Tuesday afternoon. We were seated at the bar section. There were 2 male customers seated at the bar counter having a loud vulgar conversation filled with lots of profanities. It made for an extremely unpleasant experience. Nobody dared telling these men to lower their voices down because they had engaged the server into the conversation, as well. The server was too busy [distracted] to meet the high customer service we know he is able to deliver. We were very disappointed. I had to request the barbecue packets that are usually brought out with my meal and when requesting my bill, I had to raise my voice above the profanities. I called out for the server to get his attention and he replied with a "what's up?", looking everywhere, nervously, not knowing who had called him. He finally realized it was our booth, as I waved my hand. He cashed us out and we left.
Customer service means a great deal to me. I always trained my trainees to address the customers as "ma'am" or "sir". No excuses! It is unacceptable to address a customer as "dude", "man", "bro" or using phrases like "what's up" or "hey, what do you want". And tips are a reflection of your service. Servers shouldn't get upset if they gave a 4 /10 service. And refills should be brought out as a courtesy. Customers appreciate that. It's always a nice surprise. It's a bonus for the server but when the server is too busy to take care of the customers, it really is a shame.
I hope this review serves that server as a critique or a warning to stay professional and not be conformed or engage into conversations the customers are carrying. It definitely reflected upon...
Read moreOrdered for for mothers day (several days in advance), and had to wait in line over 2 hours to pick it up. They were so disorganized and couldn't give us any information about when our food would be ready (despite us getting an automated email that confirmed our pickup time).
The management is horrible, the to go manager was speaking down to and berating customers who were just trying to get their food. I understand he was stressed out because some customers were being aggressive and rude... But man, you're a manager, you have to rise above that and still be a professional.
The worst part of it is that they couldn't give us ANY estimate on when the food would be ready. Apparently they still use a manual ticketing system and they couldn't electronically look up where our food was in the process.
I also overhead the manager tell the front house waitresses that they were not allowed to help with the to go orders, so about five of them were just standing around... Wanting to help but not able to do anything because the manager was having an ego trip and wanting to punish the customers.
Antiquated systems, terrible management, and poor communication are...
Read moreThis place has been a family favorite restaurant to us for, many years now. We usually come together here for those "special occasions" or reunions of sorts. This visit was for Bobby, who came in from out of town. We are loyal to Famous Dave's Restaurant, because of their family style platters, these are so practical and satisfying. This platter would easily serve 4-6 people, more or less, depending if "the weird uncle" shows up. For these larger parties, they seat you in a semi-private room with a fireplace.
On this last occasion, our waitress (cannot remember her name) was the bow on top of the gift. She single handedly managed to wait our group of about 20 people, and she did it with a smile. Bravo! She got the order right the first time, she constantly offered refills, and was on point, heck she even helped us out with a group photo. She made the visit feel like home,
I would highly recommend Famous Dave's Restaurant on George Dieter for your next family function, dinner for two, or to just hang out at the bar. (Which have all the available sports.) It's fun, cozy, and Oh yeah Delicious. Finger...
