Uncomfortable experience! I took my family to have lunch at (GC EP TX WEST) I was helping my grandpa serve his plate and there was nobody around the grill area when we were serving ourselves. An employee (man) approached my grandfather and I in very rude manner. The employee yelled at us from across the grill area and rushed and yanked the tongs and knife out of my hands and continued to yell at me in Spanish “NO! NO! Don’t you know they can fire me because of this!!” And I told him “I’m sorry I didn’t know I wasn’t suppose to serve myself and there was nobody around. You don’t have to yell at me and yank the knife out of my hands like that.” The man continued to be rude. I walked away, looked for a manager and notified her about the incident. I was so upset that I didn’t even eat my food comfortably. Every time I would pass by the grill the man continued to tell his other coworkers “that’s the lady that told on me.” I was only trying to help my grandfather serve his plate. The employee was very rude. He could’ve approached me in a more professional way, but NO he LITERALLY yelled at me and YANKED A KNIFE OUT OF MY HANDS! You don’t do that! Read moreSadness rules. Upon arrival you are met with a Disneyland style waitline complete with 3 rows of spacious waiting area. For a place to need this at the entrance must promise to deliver a meal above all others. We have been to many mid to high end places that didn't require a staging area as big as this.
Once through the carousel though you realize there is nothing good here except the employees. They are all quite friendly a d responsive greeting you and attending to the basic needs of a buffet. The two stars are place simply because the people kept me from giving the overall experience a one star.
The food is terrible and reminds me of what a school cafeteria might be if it were a resturaunt. Luckily I have never desired a school cafeteria meal so we visit infrequently.
The best part of Golden corral is the salad bar as it does have a small selection of fresh fruits and salads but overall this does not make up for the swine on the main buffet.
I would love to stay eat here is for the price but here again it fails. Our last dinner here was more than most casual places and does not tip favor for value. This brings the question - with food options that suck and a picture ice higher than most decent places, what market exactly is Golden...
