Went July 5th at 1240pm. We had the most TERRIBLE experience. Our waiter was pissed off even before we ordered our beverages. My 4 year old daughter was cheerfully looking at the menu and pointing to the pancakes and I proceeded to tell the waiter she wants milk and he Rudely kept interrupting me saying no breakfast, I understand but I was just ordering milk for my girl we haven't even had time to look at the menus or decide what the kids would be eating. I had to repeat myself 4 times saying she wants milk not breakfast but she'd like to drink milk. Once our drinks were served my water cup had guac sliding down on the side (no biggie I wiped it) our kids grandmother had guac on the rim of her tea and inside her drink, we asked if he could change it out. After this the children's grandma ask for more chips as two of us on the other end couldn't reach and the kids had to put their chips on their one napkin since there weren't plates available, nor napkins provided. He was flabbergasted and finally said ok to the chips, (charge us for all we care) once we received our food I did notify him that I asked for flour tortillas for my daughters quesadilla and he straight out told me "NO you said corn look I have it written here" and at this point I'm upset I told him yea I didn't write that you did. Either way I say it's fine she'll eat the corn quesadillas. The soup I ordered wasn't hot no big deal. The food was delivered and he then ask my husband what tortillas he wants, after the meal is served. We are finally paying and our poor grandma is leaving him almost a 20% tip and I proceed to tell her just to let you know he already got the mangers approval your tip has already been charged when he swiped the card it was about $19 (that's fine) the gratuity on a table of 6 but the old man server comes up to the table as we are writing the tip very Intrusive. The MOST intrusive thing he did and I was in shock when my husband didn't yell at him, this older man comes up to my son as he is laying down after he was done with his meal (tired from 4th of July festivities) he comes up to our son and caresses his cheek then he starts rubbing his hand behind our little boys neck on his skin! I was in shock and speechless. My husband didn't see and by the time I was going to tell this man off he was just patting him in the back. This is VERY unacceptable and I will be reporting this to HQ. Carnitas Queretaro on Montana is superior in EVERY way. Service, food, and hospitality. This location is not even subpar. I should have said something as a mother but in shock to what my husband might have done I stared blankly as this man violated my son's personal space touching up on him. I have been weak all day with the situation. The service alone was terrible but my son should have NEVER been put in a situation like that. Take your kids...
Read moreVery disappointed. We are new to Texas. Our first time was great, we loved it! So we went again last night. Food was ok, not nearly as good as before. But we were fine with that. Waitress could have been much better, we felt like we were bothering her the whole time, but we remained pleasant. She brought the check, we asked about dessert (showing her a dessert menu online asking if it was theirs, she replied yes but they were out of alot of things.) We ordered a bunch of desserts anyway to try (some better than others) and come to find out they were ALL $6 EACH after we got the bill! One dessert had two 4 inch long churros! And the rice pudding was in about a half cup sized bowl! As shocked as I was I paid anywa, since I should have asked before buying. Even though the online menu had these items listed for about $3 each. Then I realized she charged us for all the drink refills (we thought they were free) I told her I wish I had known about the dessert prices and that soda refills weren't free. She gave me a heck of a dirty look! And said drink refills are free. But thats NOT what I saw on the receipt! I was too tired and sick of waiting for her to come to our table for the check ( mind you there was only about 3 tables of people and 2 wait staff, and she constantly disappeared on us) she took my bill and cash. I assumed she was fixing the drink situation since it took forever for her to come back. She tossed my change ($60 bucks) on the table angrily. Didn't even hand it to me or smile. And stormed off. She didn't fix receipt by the way, since I ended up paying the full bill.. Even though I thought she was beyond rude I still left a $20 tip (I've been a waitress, I know the struggle). We will NOT be going back. I wish I had the receipt so I could post a photo. But that didn't come back and I didn't want to be there anymore. So, that's the last $160 they will get from my family. Oh and apparently tacos come with NOTHING but the meat on them. So We asked for some cheese, she brought us a tiny bowl with about 1/4 cup of cheese or less and charged us $2. Wow. So keep that in mind when ordering. I know I'm not a fan of surprises...
Read moreCarnitas Queretaro Mexican Restaurant is another nice establishment focusing on Mexican fare. It is located near Remcon Circle by the Spring Hill Suites and Fairfield Inn and Suites, both Marriott properties.
We arrived on a Monday night around 8 p.m. Perhaps because of the lateness of the hour, there was plenty of seating available. We were promptly shown to our table and shortly served drinks (horchata and water). While making our decisions from the menu, we were served tortilla chips with a green pepper sauce and a very spicy salsa, both of which were quite tasty.
The chicken tortilla soup was amazing, with a rich, spicy red broth and pieces of tender chicken. Two separate bowls -- one with tortilla strips and another with mozzarella cheese and avocado -- were provided to add as necessary.
The beef enchiladas were also delicious. One could choose from the red or green sauce (I chose the former), and either chicken, beef, or shrimp. I went with the beef, which turned out to be a good choice. The enchiladas were generously stuffed, and had a sprinkling of cheese on top. The plate came with a side of rice and refried beans.
The Enchiladas Suizas was also a smart pick. The dish consisted of three rolled chicken enchiladas with a creamy tomatillo sauce, topped with sour cream and avocado. One can also choose from a side of rice, refried beans, or charro beans.
Carnitas Queretaro Mexican Restaurant is a great place for local cuisine. Although the service was great initially, it did taper off a bit as we waited for the bill. Nevertheless, it was a satisfying meal and...
