Los Aguachiles — Restaurant in El Paso

(This is an updated review...my original review is below this one) My first time here I was not impressed. Decided to give it another shot based on the fact that I had friends that highly recommend it. Have to say my second visit was awesome! Food was great and service was top notch! Would highly recommend and will be my go to place for seafood in El Paso.

Original review...updated review is above... A friend of mine posted this pic on facebook and recommended your restaurant (HIS PICTURE IS ATTACHED) so I brought my family there this weekend. Mine definitely did not look like this....mine was a bowl of broth that I had to search for any seafood! My wife had the Garlic Black Bass and she said it was the worst she ever had! We were there on Saturday so I don't know if there was a cook in training. The waitress was also negligent and barely attended to us. I don't usually complain like this I usually just never eat at an establishment like this again but it's hard for me to believe your restaurant is as bad as I had experienced with the high review my friend gave it. Tried this place as a recommendation from a friend and was very disappointed. I ordered the tacos azteca and it was bland and flavorless. My son ordered the Baja fish tacos and they tasted basically like fish water. Our server seemed dismissive of us once I stated that I knew a little Spanish, I can understand but responding is not my strong suit at all. Luckily the food only came out to $15 so it wasn’t a huge waste of money, but still a waste nonetheless. As we were leaving, I overheard my server speaking with another server about how it’s so annoying that I don’t speak Spanish and once I looked at her because I understood what she said about us, she started speaking quieter. We left and won’t be coming back. The atmosphere, however, was great thanks to Rivertrail Studios. Best artists I’ve ever met, their work is all over the walls! Customer service is still possible even with a language...

I went last night for my birthday. We were about 11 people in my table, we submitted the order, and we even wrote it down on a piece of paper, so when the waitress comes we wouldn’t be a mess.. So the waitress comes, and she didn’t even wrote down a single note of our orders, she thought she would be able to memorize 13 plates withough making any notes what’s so ever...

First of all she forgot half of our plates, she was slow, and would forget to bring us essentials like utensils, the food was horrible, specially the aguachiles and the cóctel de camarón, they were literally made with water, no flavor, no spices, I’ve never tasted a coctel so horrible in my life...

Oh and our tab was like $170 and she got $20 tip automatically, even though her service sucked so bad.
