We really looked forward to coming back our 2nd time but the manager completely ruined it. We ordered a tortilla soup and it was awful. It was soo bland that no amount of salt, pepper or salsa could salvage it. We brought it to the waitresses attention. She then came back and told us the manager still wanted to charge us for it and we then asked to speak with the manager. She came up to us in a confrontational manner nd had the people around us looking in our direction at the scene she was making. We were embarrassed, talked down on and extremely disappointed in the way she handled everything so we just left. We will never eat at this establishment again. The first time we ate here the service was great the waiters were friendly and the tortilla soup (which they're known for)...

Great authentic southwestern/Mexican style plates. Very nice salsa that too many other restaurants fail to deliver. Wait staff and cashier learn your name and greet you as soon as you walk in the door. I am handicapped and use walker. They jump to help me with the door. I am a regular for breakfast- so-o cheap for so-o much. Special is 2 eggs- your style, bacon AND sausage and pancakes as well as hash browns. I trade off pancakes for toast- all for $5 plus change. Their coffee is good as far as I'm concerned, simply because it does not have that bitter after taste-as opposed to some other big name coffee shops where i have to put that bitter cup of coffee on layaway! They feature other breakfast...

Popular casual Mexican spot. There’s a cash discount but they do take credit cards. Friendly service and solid food. My friend and I came here for breakfast before heading over to the White Sands National Park. I got a Mexican omelette which came with your choice of flour or corn tortillas and home fries or hashed browns. They did give us chips and salsa for the beginning but the salsa was a bit watery. My friend got the huevos rancheros. Our food was filling and came out quickly. You pay at the cash register. Lots of people filled up the spot starting around 9am. Free parking lot...

Off the hook -- great comfort food tastes like it was made in a home kitchen. I had the Picadillo plate and a Chile Relleno on the side. Both were outstanding, and that Relleno was as brilliant as Albert Einstein. The Anaheim Chile was roasted and had some spice I couldn't reconiže which elevated it to the Chile Relleno pole position , in a race that started in the barrio of Santa Ana (CA) in December 1991. Many thanks to Deborah who was not sheisty with her time in guiding me through the menu. I'll be back next time I'm in El Paso

First time there. Co worker recommended. Tried the Chimichanga. If it didn’t have dry/hard pieces of chicken mixed in w/fresh chicken i would’ve said it was delicious, but chewing on hard n chewy chicken was disappointing. rice was good. beans salty. Lastly, DO NOT go by any of the price menus online-they’re ALL incorrect, including their facebook page. and it’s not a small difference.I blv in 2nd chances so i will try again & update this review.

We are from MN and visited Cafe East while visiting family. Sam was our waitress and she did an awesome job! Not only did she give us great service, she also took the time to chat with us, joke with us and even took a group photo for us. My husband said the menudo was good. I had the pancake special, which was a great value👍. We'll definitely be back next time we visit El Paso!
