I LOVE this place. I recommend DINE IN only. The food is delicious when DINE IN. I ordered to go, was waiting there for almost 10 minutes without getting charged or a place to sit. The girl never came back out to reassure me it was getting done, but neither did management.
It is not a welcoming place anymore from when I was a child, but Rita was super sweet and Roseann honestly the family is great! I remember knowing they were there because the place would just light up and the environment felt friendly and homey. attitude is completely different than the other staff. RIP Rita... Maranto family please take a check in on staff. Get cameras so you can see how they greet and attend customers. I come with my family and we enjoy it as it brings back memories, but once we get the server we are rushed and they don't smile or make you feel welcome. It gives the "ugh another customer I just want to go home" feeling . Those bad vibes on family outings really bring down the time. The food is still and always has been DELICIOUS. Kudos to Alonsos for keeping up that deliciousness lol if it is them still
either manager or another waitress went up to a waitress right next me and scolded her for not taking her orders correctly. I was a finger away from her like I was involved in that conversation I am an office manager. Conversations like that should have been done in the back and away from customers. It was unprofessional and makes the situation awkward... Embarrassing a server/employee doesn't make you look good. It was mean knowing how busy it was.
If it was the new manager, Please respect your employees because they reflect off you. Maybe that's why they are unhappy and make our experience very unpleasant. Encourage your employees, make them laugh and want to do better. Build a healthy work environment so they pass that to the customers and we can have great family nights again :)
No one wants to work, but there are people out there who would LOVE a job in customer service. so management please look into getting people who actually care about their jobs. Maybe that employee has been messing up constantly, but just take it in the back so the customers still feel the love and family. I LOVE the food here and the amazing memories with my family. This is our go to spot for italian food. PEOPLE COME TO THIS SPOT FOR TRUE ITALIAN FOOD. I don't want it to ever close, but the staff ruin it. Bring back that Maranto family environment!! Let their...
Read moreThis place was unexpectedly phenomenal!! I'm actually bummed that we didn't find this place sooner. They are allowing dine in at a limited capacity and masks are REQUIRED. It's small, operating in a house but converted into a very cozy restaurant and is certainly a hidden gem here in El Paso. A bit hidden between residences, the vibrant sign leads the way into the main entrance; almost directly across the street from The Dollar Tree. As soon as you walk in, the aroma just envelops your senses so if you didn't come in hungry- you definitely will be almost as soon as you close the door behind you. The food is superb! I had the lasagna (which is baked fresh in a portion size of your choice), my son had the spaghetti and my husband had the shrimp fettuccine alfredo... all three of us had delicious leftovers. The garlic bread is excellent, as is the mozzarella sticks paired with an exceptionally fresh marinara. Honestly it might be the best marinara we have ever had. We each had a refreshing iced tea with our dinner, the waitresses in the restaurant made sure we had everything we needed throughout our visit. It reminds me of a smaller, homestyled version of Olive Garden but the choice between the two; without question will now always be The Italian Kitchen. Much more reasonable in price as well. Everything we ordered came out to under $50 total, whereas at Olive Garden similar plates would be well over $75 or $80. They also offer military discounts to those in active duty uniform. I'd give it ten stars if I could and we will definitely be back. I didn't take great photos but I'll include what I got to give an idea of...
Read moreCute little house turned into restaurant. I came in and wasn't greeted, so looked for a place to sit. Every empty table was dirty. I was OK with that since they were rather busy. The waiter/busboy started to clear off the trash from another table and put it on my table directly in front of me without saying a word. Eventually, he got to me and I asked for my table to be cleaned. After 15 minutes, he cleaned my table by pushing the dirty food onto my lap. I was discouraged, but have been wanting to try this restaurant for a while. I ordered Chiante. It came out hot and tasted like out of a box. Still not discouraged, i anxciencly awaited the food. It came out unexpectedly fast, which i appreciated as i was hungry. I ordered the Italian Plate as it gives a bit of everything, so I could maximize my experience. The presentation was horrible. It was a lunch size plate with spaghetti, rigotoni, empanadas, and lasagna. The food was overflowing the plate. Everything tasted like SALT, SALT AND SALT. I had to add red peppers just to disguise the salt taste. The waiterm asked how everything was and I told him mediocre at best, trying to be nice. He responded, OK enjoy! I took him to the side later to describe my experience and he had no concern, so I asked to speak with a manager. It has been 20 minutes and haven't...
