Just moved to the Eastside recently, I've eaten at rib hut since the ribs were $1.50 each since I was a fresh men in high school back in the year 2000, I had never Ever encountered such poor service until I visited this Eastside location for dinner, I arrived around 4:07pm, I was given a seat to order my food where I waited 13 minutes to get a server to my table , I called the restaurant 2 times on my phone ,the staff stated they could not hear me, I got up went i person to this young lady with heavy makeup and glasses told her ,I've been waiting to at least get something to drink for almost 15 minutes, the server took my order, I chose to order an apetizer, after eating my appetizer I saw 2 to 4 families that arrived after me get there food, I was by myself and I still waited about another 10 minutes to get a refill, a short lady in blue shirt who I asked if she was the manager and said yes, I explained my situation, and she responded with " poor service excuses' first that I got there in the change of staff, that it was hectic according to her ,with restaurant half empty, I then responded, so your telling me I should not not come to dine at this time?? She responded sarcastically your choice, I then went on saying that is no excuse, again her second poor excuse was I had ordered an appetizer i was like really?? As I was explaining to her ,she rudely cut me off ,took my cup from my table stating " ughh let me just call Rich" she brought me drink and never returned , not only did her poor service ethics as a manager ruin my appetite but ruin the image I once had about dining in am enjoyable atmosphere , I will never go there again, but ill continue to go to where I am treated as a loyal customer the Westside location!! The situation was so bad in Eastside location I had to take food I had ordered to go...thanks to Nick server who apologized on behalf of his rude manager and poor service situation. Never again...I hope Rich...
Read moreWe stopped in for the first time on Sunday, January 24th around 1:15-1:20 PM to place a takeout order. Upon arrival we were greeted and seated at a table next to an occupied table. The 2 tables were not 6 ft apart so we were surprised that we were seated at this table. We briefly looked at the menu and were ready to order as soon as the waitress came to our table. About 15 minutes after placing our order the waitress brings us our check, and I’m fairly certain she had just input our order in the POS system. The order on the check was incorrect so we informed the waitress and she rushed to the back to get our order corrected and after another 5-10 minutes she brought us our corrected check. We waited another 15-20 minutes for our order of which the BBQ meats and beans should have been ready to go. The only item we ordered that could have required preparation would have been the steak fries so we were surprised it took so long to get us our order. In total we waited at least 45 minutes for a takeout order which is excessive especially considering the restaurant was not busy. Additionally, the waitstaff did not seem to have designated sections as we were asked by 3 different personnel if we had been helped. Despite the restaurant not being very busy the waitstaff seemed to be running around frantically.
Overall, as BBQ goes the food was above average but not great. The brisket had good flavor but was a little dry and the sausage tasted like store bought Eckrich brand sausage. The Pork Baby Back Ribs were good according to my husband. The beans were good and the steak fries were probably the best we’ve had. In the future if we were to get food from here we would order ahead and come by to pick...
Read moreLots of options and good food. Took my family out to eat here. They made us wait for about ten minutes for a party of 6 because most of the tables there are small. I was surprised the wait time wasn't longer on a Saturday evening but I would be prepared to wait for a while because by the time we were leaving a lot of people were coming in and the place is small. They offered take out and drive thru as well for your convenience. The ambiance is really nice and you have the option to sit outside on the patio or stay indoors where they have plenty of tvs to watch sports at. Rib hut has a variety of family sharing platters and their appetizers and samplers are really good. I will say that ordering as a family becomes kinda confusing since since the family platter offers one meat and a ton of sides. I do wish we were given a choice to add some meats for a small additional price or to half's with the meats. Instead we ended up paying 15 dollars more to add extra meat to our order. The sides were beans, Cole slaw and a huge plate of jalapeno and onions which is not super appetizing. They also only give a small bowl of sauce with the meat and the meat doesn't already have sauce. There is no napkins on the tables which gets messy while eating bbq Now for the good stuff: the ribs are gigantic and super filling, you get free refills on fountain drinks but the cups are gigantic, ALL the potatoes based plates are amazing. The curly fries, the sidewinders etc. Again there is a variety of appetizers and these are large enough to share with the rest of the table. Overall rib hut has been a part of El Paso for a long time and it continues to be a fan favorite, definitely...
