Sun City Kitty — Restaurant in El Paso

I heard about the café on the news and went to go check it out with my daughter. We went after I picked her up from school to surprise her. I looked around to see if there was any expectations to go inside to play with the cats. I saw a set of rules for respectful playing with the cats, that was really it. So I thought maybe it was clear to go, due to no signs stating otherwise. I looked around so I would avoid being disrespectful to any rules. The barista said “Excuse me you need an appointment” across the café like I was suppose to know, which I responded I didn’t see anywhere where it said you needed an appointment. At this point everyone is staring at me, I got flushed. Her tone was condescending and she said that I needed an appointment and left it at that. I told her I didn’t see anywhere that says I needed one, she and the other associates ignored me. I understand y’all just opened, there were people there being helped but I felt like a little kid being lectured and it’s a small café, everyone turned around to stare at my daughter and I. I felt very embarrassed to say the least so we left. Later, I checked the site and I do see there is a need for an appointment but I went in there blindly and there were no signs stating such. I could understand if I was educated on how to or where to sign up but it was point blank I needed an appointment without any resource. It was discouraging, to say the least. We loved the cats. Though at the time we arrived, it was probably nap time for them (cats are cats and they sleep throughout most of the day, so I can't complain about that). Banshee the Bobtail is kind of a meanie (to my girlfriend at least), but I know she's just a cat who prefers to have her personal space (she was cool with me though). Ghost and his brother (I forgot his name 😭) are a silly pair. But my favorite out of all of them was Rumpletiltskin, a siamese cat, though he hated the other cats, he really liked people, and me in particular (he was ready to depart from my girlfriend at any time but hesitated to leave me). I still remember when our time was up in the lounge with the cats, Rumpletiltskin did not want me to go. Now, as with any café, I must speak of the food. For my girlfriend, they had some pretty refreshing lemonade, meanwhile I've ordered a London Fog, honestly, the London fog could use a little help (though the cats really wanted my drink, I was like "no, this is not for you."). Well this place is alright I would lowkey say it’s a waste of money, the bag where the cat treats were are soooo small they only had 6 tiny little treats . The cats are literally spoiled because they will not interact with you unless you give them treats. And most cats there are aggressive which is normal cat behavior but still kinda shitty. The drinks are not that good too , either too much sugar or not enough. The place is also dirty it was full of cat shit and the cats smelled dirty and dusty . If you think you will get your own time with the cats then you are WRONG . When I went I thought it would only be me and my bf but more people came in and took most of the cats leaving us with almost none.
