My girlfriend and I, we’re heading back from the city after visiting her sister, Mcsqueezy. We grabbed some dinner at a nice spot called The Kitchen on Belmont. It was a pleasure meeting her sister for the first time, I hope I made a good first impression, because I know how important my girlfriend’s sister is to her. While driving back, we were working up an appetite for some dessert. Andy’s was mentioned a few times on previous dates, and was being teased, and tossed around. So I decided after an important dinner, tonight was the night. We pulled into Andy’s Frozen Custard, parked, and let the experience begin.
We walked up to the menu, and my eyes lit up like a kid on Christmas morning. Andy’s has an old 60’s diner and ice cream shop vibe. Makes you want to pull up with a classic American muscle car, with your beautiful girl, and enjoy a lovely evening. That’s exactly what we did. After over looking for a few more minutes, my darling found an item called the Birthday Shake. Myself was eyeballing an item called the Texas 2-Step, boy was I ready to dance.
Finally ready to order, we approached the window.. There were a group of younger ladies lingering around like they were a bit confused. So I asked if they were in line? They let us go ahead, and I ordered the Birthday Cake Shake with confidence. Boy first mistake, it’s just a Birthday Shake not cake 🤦♂️My girlfriend gave me an earful of sass about that one. I resume to order the Texas 2-Step, Gollyyyyy I reckon that’s custard right there, I don’t care who you are.
We grabbed a seat at the bench, awaiting our order. In the mean time we got to over hear a few young bucks, talk about their night. Andy’s welcomes all age groups, which is enjoyable. The cashier finally called out our order, which was ready, I told my girlfriend lets goooooo, got an eye roll for that one 😉 We grabbed our custard, and started to walk back to the car. We snagged a beautiful photo together to capture the memory, and started to enjoy our custard, in my car.
The Birthday Shake would’ve been better if it had the pieces of cake in it. The Texas 2-Step however… Golllllyyyyyy!!!! “That was a mighty fine custard right there.”

Read moreI purchased a caramel apple with pecans yesterday and when I cut it open this afternoon, it was rotten inside. So, I drove 30 minutes to your store and your employees were both super kind and apologized for the rotten apple and offered to either refund or replace the apple. I asked if they could cut it open for me before I left, and they said they weren't allowed to. Which if that's your policy, is not on them. They did, however, offer to open a new box to hopefully get me a fresh one. Like I said before, excellent customer service.
Happily, when I finally got home to open the new apple it was fresh. Sadly, it wasn't a very tasty caramel apple. The caramel was mediocre and the pecans tasted stale. At minimum, offer to cut them open before people leave so you know if they are OK before selling them. I really think you need a new supplier. Perhaps a local orchard? Jonamac Orchard in Malta, IL has amazing caramel apples.
Additionally, my husband had the pumpkin pie concrete yesterday and he said it was...
Read moreDisappointed with the “Blueberry Concrete” – it’s just vanilla! If I could I give negative star not even one.
Ordered the new limited-time Blueberry Concrete expecting a rich blueberry flavor blended throughout, but what I got was plain vanilla with maybe a hint of blueberry on top, definitely not blended. It tasted like regular vanilla ice cream, nothing special, and not worth the price. Even check with the employee and they said this is how it should come in even for special or limited time item. Super disappointing for something advertised as a blueberry treat. Feels like false...
