An absolute joy, that is Other than the shady characters and drug dealers trying to be slick about it but aren't and the users in and out of the bathroom, extremely loud volume jukebox at 110%, and people talking to themselves loudly about urges to beat someone because their money is missing while being so hammered they are passed out one minute acting like this the next looking for fights but won't be tossed out, it's a real joy to have a drink and a game of pool or darts if you can squeeze into a parking spot and avoid the skunks or eye contact. This is, hands down, one of the coolest bars I have ever been to. You can take your entire family (of legal drinking age) to this place! The old man behind the bar, I believe his name is Pete, is one of the most genuine and kindest men I have ever met and had the blessing of, both: meeting, AND spending any amount of time with. 10/10.. no.. 20/10!! That’s the way uh huh uh huh I like it! Bens bar is a Jersey Gem! My hubs and I stopped in for a Cherry Blossom strongbow while we waited for our baggage to arrive at Newark. Going 49 years strong, the staff and patrons are friendly, and there is a little tiny buck on the wall!
