First, I will never order anything from the kitchen of this Wawa — and I really like Wawa food. On two separate occasions I have seen kitchen workers use the restroom, not wash their hands, and return to work.
I don’t think that’s all the kitchen workers, but it doesn’t seem this is managed very well during overnight hours. At the very least, managers should require kitchen workers to wash their hands and sanitize upon returning to the kitchen, whether they already done so in the restroom or not.
Employees, at least overnight, are not very polite. As I was walking to the self-checkout, an employee pushed his way past me to go to the counter where customers has been waiting for at least a couple minutes already. The employee was stocking something and decided to wait until I, as one person, was heading to the checkout register to then make his way through, as if I weren’t there.
Also, the bathroom is always a mess, and the lone toilet in the men’s room didn’t even have toilet paper.
This should be a showcase store for Wawa, being right outside of Newark airport. Instead, it has me...
Read moreBe careful Wawa who are you hiring. Yesterday on 4/12/24 went to fill up the gas for 20 dollars. Gave 20$ to gas intendant, told him "20$ regular", he repeated after me the amount and started fueling, I went to the bathroom, came back and saw on the gas pum that he filled up for 5 dollars. I called him to let him know that he filled for 5 and I gave him 20, he was telling me that's how much you gave me. I told him that that is not true and that I didn't even have 5 dollars bill in my wallet. After going back and forth with him on how much I gave him, I just gave up and told him to enjoy his free lunch on my behalf. He stole the money from me and God knows how long he's been doing it, his excuse was that he didn't see right away how much I gave him, even though he looked into the bill in his hand. From now on, I'm not fueling for cash, because nobody has time to argue with intendants or wasting time reporting them to management. But be mindful when you're filling up the gas in this station rt 1&9 at...
Read moreA great place to get coffee or a quick sandwich. There is a wheelchair accessible bathroom also available if you are just traveling through one to get to the airport, IKEA, Jersey Gardens or other place. There is gas available at this Wawa. It is usually a very busy place so the food tends to stay fresh. There is just about every snack, soda, and even fresh fruit available. The staff is usually pretty nice and helpful. There is wheelchair parking which sometimes is taken by people who do not have the proper ID. I do wish that staff or others with keep an eye on this. Last week I informed some dude running in that he did not have a proper which accessible parking permit. His reply, "no one was parking there and I was just running in for a minute!" Of course I was not pleased! Anyway, overall good place for a quick stop just watch out for the...
