Cappy's Northside Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Elkhart

I have always wanted to find out what took me so long in my life to come here to this establishment that I always keep passing by. Well, I finally decided to pay a little visit to this restaurant/bar. I was amazed at the staff and customers, whom welcomed me like a newcomer. The proud owners, Merle and Linda Anderson, are such wonderful people whom dedicated their lives to turn Cappy's into a town tavern on the Northside of Elkhart. The food, which I ordered the lake perch and fries, became my now forever favorite. Laurie is a wonderful hostess, in fact, all of the staff is friendly and caring. If you ever want to find a place where the food is great, the drinks are one of a kind, please stop by Cappy's, and you too, will have a restaurant to call one...

Tried this place for the first time on 3/2/2024 and was not impressed.

Upon entering, no one welcomed us and told us to sit anywhere. We just walked around aimlessly until finding a table. Once our waitress, who was very nice, greeted us and got our drinks, she got the wrong pop for me. Once corrected, we never got refills. Food was also not very good. I wanted the walleye sandwich, but got the dinner interested. Fries were bland and tasteless and the walleye was bland and greasy. Salad was basically a head of lettuce, 1 tomato slice, 1 cucumber slice, and some cheese. The cottage was good. When the check came, there was a charge for 2 pops, but that was...

I thought we would try the place out and I'm sorry to say I won't be going back!!! The place was very warm inside and I felt like I was going to pass out from the heat. To me they seem to be a little on the pricy side. I had a meatball sandwich which I felt was very small for the price. I also feel like they seem to charge for everything they can. They charged me 40 cents for some tomatoes and 75 cents for 2 very small pieces of bell pepper. They even charged 50 for refills. The place was busy but I felt like the service could've been better. Overall I was not impressed with the service or the food and cannot in good conscience recommend this...
