8:30am Monday 7/10/2023 The service was atrocious, and I don’t say that lightly. “How many doughnuts are you getting?” That was the greeting I received. The employee then slams the boxes on the counter and proceeds to (seemingly reluctantly) fill my order. As I’m going through the list of doughnuts in my head, I unknowingly ordered them the wrong way…insert confusion where necessary. The employee interrupted me and said, “Are you getting any more premium doughnuts?” Well seeing as I’m not an employee, I do not know what a “premium” doughnut is. However, because I have some level of intelligence and life experience, I’m assuming they’re filled or anything without a hole in it. As I’m trying to rethink the order, because of course I’m ordering for each person in my family instead of by premium or not premium doughnut 🙄 “1 chocolate frosted yeast doughnut.” Her snappy response? “They’re all yeast.” I just looked at her for a few seconds because I was somewhat baffled at her behavior. Side note: They’re not all yeast, they do now have cake doughnuts, just not chocolate frosted ones. I digress. She filled the rest of my order and then slammed the doughnut boxes up on top of the glass case where they nearly slipped off. Any other time I’ve been here they carry the box to the register behind the counter. The checkout process was as expected, rude and unpleasant, same employee. This was a horrible experience at Rise’n’Roll…horrible. From the moment she made the first encounter with me until I finished checking out I felt like a major inconvenience to this woman’s day. I am appalled that anyone in the service industry would behave in such a way. I didn’t know the original owners before it blew up into the franchise that it did, but I think they would be mortified to have this woman represent the name of Rise’n’Roll. I've gone in here about 20 times and never had an issue. Usually arrive around 6am and it's usually me getting donuts. Today 3/29/24 I stopped to get a pie and a donut. Everyone was back by the register and all engaged in a conversation, I walked back to get someone. One lady walked right by me and didn't give me a look until after she engaged people that came in behind me. I asked the manager for assistance in getting a donut. She was very disrespectful and assumed that I just didn't go to the front and bypassed their process. She made this comment to the young lady she sent to get my donut. If there is no others in there you will be treated OK, be cautious if there is more than two customers you may not fair so well. Their baked goods are wonderful. The powdered cinnamon/carmel donuts are the best. They are nick named Amish Crack. Very appropriate since they are addicting..☺They always sell out fast. Now with the supply shortage they only make them 3 days a week. Have to get there early. They were out so I got an apple fritter, a Carmel and a chocolate sprinkle, then a powdered cinnamon Carmel covered filled with Bavarian cream.
