Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Elkhart

This is a pathetic excuse of a business. Time and time again I find myself wondering why I go back to this store. Last weekend I attempted to give this store some business but was turned down because they closed earlier than what the store hours stated. Not a minute or 10 minutes early but an half hour early. Well tonight finally tipped the bucket for me and I forever place this store on my blacklist. I suppose it doesn't hurt to confirm everyone's comment and say the wait at the drive-thru is absolutely unacceptable. However, I'm ignorant and decided to wait but I was soon to discover this was a mistake. Tonight, I get the usual, "I'll be with you in a moment".... 5 minutes later.... "How can I help you?" Here is where I tapped their resources. I ask for a Moo Late and a blizzard. I get the response "Our ice cream machine is broken and we cant make them" This was all fine because I am understanding and know that sometimes machines break but this was not the first time I get the excuse, our machine is broke. Come to find out around 30 minutes before closing time DQ's outstanding and somewhat witty employees use the common phrase "our machine is broke" so they don't have to make ice cream orders.

The employees could not hear my boyfriend or I over the speaker, asked us to repeat order multiple times even when we were practically yelling into it.. which isn’t that big of a deal by itself. But when we got our ice cream + shake, both were melted down and a watery consistency. I ordered a hot fudge shake, and for some reason it just tasted like straight up bananas? Ended up not even being appetizing, so just threw it out. Wanted to go back through drive thru but there was a long line of cars so it wouldn’t have been worth it as we didn’t really have time to wait. Disappointing since I have never had an issue with this DQ, they’re usually pretty good at getting orders correct. Just make sure your order is correct before you leave drive thru would...

I have been coming to this Dairy Queen for years.. I know sometimes the wait is a little longer than at a fast food restaurant but that's because they are NOT fast food...the food is made when you order it...At night after 8pm there is also a little wait but that's because they are very busy...All these people who complain need to remember they can not pre-make icecream orders..if you want pre-ordered food go to a fastfood restaurant...i love the new managers...they are very friendly and try to help in any way...I have witnessed at times where they are way to busy trying to get peoples orders finished to where they could not stop to take a complaint but they do get numbers and call the costumer..I...
