Went in at 6 pm on a Saturday. They told us the food would be 35 minutes and we agreed to wait and originally ordered take out before a big enough table opened up so we told the cashier we wanted it there because it was 630 and the food was coming soon... we thought! We ordered appetizers, pizza, root beer floats, sodas, and tiramisu. Got every item at different times.
There was a large group that came in at 630 and sat down right after we did. They were getting their appetizers by 640! We flagged the lady down and told her we had been waiting-with children- for almost 40 minutes and haven't gotten anything. She came out with a tied bag of our appetizers that had been wrapped in plastic containers and confirmed that it was ours and had been ready for quite awhile but the cashier never told her it was changed to dine in. The cheesy bread that looked SO good at the next table was not at all the same as ours. We had wet soggy chewy cold breadsticks and only ate a few. It was so disappointing. And to top it off, they wrapped the hot item with the cold caprese salad so our cheese and tomatoes weren't even cold anymore. All of this food must have been sitting in this bag for a half hour on the counter, and nobody questioned it. The lady apologized and said they were short 2 people so we didn't even bother complaining. I'm just disappointed. We chose this place out of several while picking apples because of the reviews.
Top everything off! Our pizza didn't come out until right after 7. Like 7:02. So our appetizers would have sat there for 50 minutes getting more unpleasant, and they were OK with this happening to us. The pizza might have been better if I didn't already have a bad experience. I thought the crust and cheese were delicious, but I thought the sauce was thin and ketchupy.. kinda bland. As much as I felt sorry for them being short-handed, I will never go back, they knew the hot appetizer sat in a plastic container getting moist and warm and my cold appetizer getting room temp. They had time to fix it and chose to be OK with this. Hmm. My daughter loved the root beer float! And the sodas were self-service,...
Read moreI work at a very popular restaurant nearby, and I love when both of our restaurants have competing, intoxicating, drool worthy scents inviting people off of the sidewalks!! My only complaint is that I've become addicted to Little Italian's food as much as I have that as that of the place I work at!! 😂 The strombolis with the garlic spread are to DIE for!! The Big Cheese and meatball sliders are also incredible!! I know that customers, (including myself!!) have mentioned the prices at first, but once you get to really taste and appreciate the quality of the chosen ingredients, and that what Chef Annette is doing isn't a chain restaurant experience, but handmade, "homemade" tasting items... You get it, and you understand what she's trying to do in making something special and remarkable that she's wanting to share with the town. And that is what pulls you back wanting more, and willingly paying that little bit more. Because it's so worth it!!! Whenever the facility I work at has an excessively long wait list, or when we're very busy and there are families with a long wait and small children, or any other random situation arises, etc, I will always refer them here, since the food is always delicious, high quality, and is usually a very quick turnaround for food if customers can't wait for a full dining experience. As small businesses, it's incredibly important that we support one another. And Little Italian is an absolute gem that we want and need to keep here in our Ellijay family!!! If nothing else, to continue to satiate my stromboli cravings!!!! 😂😂 one stromboli will feed me for three days!! Much love to the entire awesome staff there, and to Chef...
Read moreI am gonna be as honest as I can about this place - as I always am…not trying to say anything negative about the decor…I’ve walked by here a number of times before we bought a place in town - and I’ve always thought to myself “ no way this place can be great “ - unfortunately I was judging it by its simple decor and a “ pizza by the slice “ vibe. Boy, was I wrong. There are two different stations where one can order - one is for pizza - the other is for “ Italian street food “… we went for street food. The little counter in the back is where you order - the young lady that took our order looked like she could be on a runway in Paris - apart from dressing like she is on the run way - typical understated Georgia folk - while providing the hospitality experience that you’d expect from a Four Seasons…she didn’t mean to be that good at her job - she simply cared for her guests and her job - that’s incredibly rare to find in our business. I had a group of 5 and we kind of got a little bit of everything…between the Italian sausage and the meatballs, and whatever else others got - it was beyond stunning. The price point seemed silly to me - because I know how much work goes into a scratch kitchen, and how low their profit margin must be for the dishes they serve - they did not seem to care - they just wanted to serve great food. Final verdict is they do amazing food - they have incredible staff - and most importantly - they do it all out of love for the community and the industry. 9 freaking stars out of 5! Well done,...
