Boardwalk Pizza & Pub — Restaurant in Ellijay

We have been coming to Boardwalk Pizza since we moved here in 2018. The pizza was always good, we enjoyed the atmosphere and usually met some nice people.... sometimes we had a super friendly server and other times not so much, but we enjoyed the time out so much we overlooked it. Last night was the last time we will go there 😞 we were treated poorly by the owner. We sat at an outside table like we always do and waited for a server. We noticed the only person working was the owner, and he was slammed! We felt bad for him so me and our grandson went in to order to help him out. We were met with a frazzled attitude (which I totally understood), and he said" you won't get your pizza for an hour" and I said "no problem " and we stood there waiting for him to ask us what we wanted to drink..... he told us that he wouldn't be able to get to us for 15 minutes.... it was all very weird instead of trying to convince us to leave without saying "leave, I'm too busy for you" he could have used that time to grab 3 beers and we would have been happy waiting for him to catch up. It was awkward and a bit embarrassing.... so we left and will not return, and I'm sure the owner could care less if we ever come back again, it won't affect him either way, but if he keeps behaving that way, he will end up with...

Staff seemed nice enough. I hope they get their act together. Downtown desperately needs good restaurants.

Ordered pizza to go on a Thursday since 1/2 price was advertised online. Was told when I got there that the 1/2 price was dine-in only. Okay. Perhaps specifying that online would be nice. I didn't complain.

The pizza itself looked like it was a pre-frozen, but it was the toppings (or lack thereof) that caused me to take the pizza back and ask for my money back. In all honesty, I could have gotten a better pizza at dominoes for about half the price. The staff was nice and admitted they had been very busy all day. I got my refund but I doubt I'll go back. The pathetic level of toppings on the pizza was so off-putting, I don't really care to find out what they would give me on a good day.

Two stars for nice staff giving me a refund. Hope they make...

Boardwalk Pizza & Pub at 25 Church St in Ellijay is doing SO well as a small business that they do NOT want any more business. Congrats to them! Called to see if you we could call in a TO GO order for pizza in and they told us 45 minutes, which is fine. When we called back to actually place the order 3 minutes later after we had the order together, they told us an hour and a half ! And this is at 7:52 PM on a Sunday night on July 24. They close at 9:00….. This is why businesses are closing. Employees don’t want to work and don’t care. There are people wanting to spend money In this economy to support a small business and this is a factual account of what happened. What a shame.
