Cecil Whittaker's Pizza — Restaurant in Ellisville

Went there last weekend (Mar 2022) and there was a sign about going back to square one and joining two individuals (Scott and I forget sorry!) for dinner. From that I figured it was a change in ownership or management. Gotta say, it's a welcome change!

We've been a way for a while because of the prior 'whatever he was' being so rude (one example below). Now, we see a familiar face back and it was great. The food was good and the treatment we received was really nice. We'll be back and if it goes that well again, we'll go from a 4 to a 5 in our rating.

Long time customer who tried to call in an order. The first time went to a busy signal after 5 rings. I called back and all I heard was “Can I help you”? I asked if this was Cecil Whitakers and was met with an impatient “That’s how I answered the phone! Can you hold on?”

Look I get it’s a busy night but if your customer is asking for a simple clarification, just go with it. A ‘yes, please hold’ would have worked.

It’s not the first time we have had phone order issues - have been on infinite hold and of late, it can be unpleasant when we do get through.

Good food. Excellent t-ravs - we have brought people here for a true STL experience, but the declining service is a problem. Definitely won’t order by...

As an Afghanistan veteran I absolutely never expect any sort of discount or deal for my service, but I've learned over the years it never hurts to ask. Tonight after I picked up my food and paid for it, as I was walking out I figured id ask real quick for future reference. The girl told me she didn't know but she'd be happy to ask. She goes in the very back of the kitchen and asks a man (I assume manager?) Who then proceeds to scream so loud that even i hear him upfront "THE FOODS ALREADY DISCOUNTED!!!" I think the girl was shocked at his response because she said something and he screamed again "THE FOODS ALREADY DISCOUNTED ENOUGH!"

Honestly he's totally right, the food is fantastic and the price is great. I certainly didn't expect a discount, I'm just shocked management would get so angry at the question and take it out on his staff.

This, as far as food is concerned, is not a good place to go.

The pizza is not up to par. Whatever toppings you choose, they will all be wall-to-wall, vs other locations where the more toppings the more spread out each will be. And the pizza is in the oven for way too long, winding up in a pizza with burnt carbon as all of the toppings. Not pleasant.

The online menu boasts an Italian Sausage sandwich. This location does not offer the Italian Sausage sandwich. They don't have it available.

Ambiance is nice, service is fantastic. Wait staff are very friendly.
