ThaiConic — Restaurant in Ellsworth

Such a nice surprise to stumble upon this Thai restaurant while visiting Bar Harbor, Maine.

Very tasty Authentic Thai cuisine. I asked for Thai spiciness and yes, I have received.

We ordered Papaya Salad, sautéed Chicken with Eggplants, Beef Khao Soi (Thai styled egg noodles with yellow curry), and Spicy Noodles with pork, Basil and chili. Everything turned out to be very flavorful and tasty. Not disappointed at all. Totally recommended!!

For us, this is a great find 'cuz I have been having (buttery) Lobster and other seafood since I got to Maine since Monday. So it's been 4 full days that I've missed all the spices. We were so happy and left satisfied with full stomachs. =)

Service was friendly and attentive. Thank you for that as well.

We stayed in the area for our honeymoon, and although we came up here hankering for lobster, ThaiConic is the only place we got food from multiple times. The Ginger Soup was an unexpected favorite, with the most bright, tangy broth and fresh vegetables. The Chive Dumplings were also phenomenal! We’re huge fans of Thai chive dumplings, but these ones were different. You get a bunch of smaller cubed dumplings with an almost tofu texture, which was amazing because they’re so much easier to share. Everything we had was delicious, I really can’t recommend this...

New restaurant just opened for 4 months as of October 2025 so front staffing is still working out the kinks but once seated the service was attentive. Food came quickly as the kitchen was fully staffed. The highlight was the great food rivalling the better Thai restaurants from home (SF bay area) and much better than the numerous Thai restaurants we visited during our decades of travel.
