We went here on the longest day of the year, and had the longest lunch of the year!! No joke. We seated our selves and got our menus and drink order put in relatively quickly. Then the waiting begin.... We were seated right next to the bar where the bartender puts the drinks for the servers, and quickly saw our drinks appear there.... and there they sat. They had to have been there 15 to 20 minutes before the bartender took notice and brought them over to our table. We'd see our server work other tables, but never came over to take our order. We attempted to flag her down numerous times. Finally we got her attention, and put our order in, and I ordered another drink fearing this wait would be as long as the other. Thankfully my drink was delivered quickly before she disappeared again. When the others at the table needed a drink, we had to flag down a different waitress to get those drinks orders put in. They quickly appeared on the bar, but this time we knew better. After about 10 minutes of seeing them sit there again, we just went and asked the bartender if we could take them. So now we had our second set of drinks, at least an hour in... Then we waited some more for the pizza. The PIZZA is the only saving grace! If we didn't know how good the pizza was ahead of time, we would have been out of there way sooner!! Needless to say, the pizza was amazing....and the only reason she got a tip. She was at our table needlessly 5 times after we got the food. At that point we just wanted to eat our pizza, and not hear what a crazy day it was. I should add we got there on a Friday afternoon around noon, and got done after 2 pm. We also saw a regular (he was a mug club member) sit down near us with his son and didn't get any service. He turned his mug upside down on the table and left. Good for him! Next time we'll order the...
Read moreJust at Dempsey's pizza for the first time in a couple years this afternoon. I being a foodie and disabled chef-time mainly cook person I asked the person waiting on us If Shawn was in. I asked her if she could ask him if he had time to throw me together any type of pizza he desired to make. She looked very bothered and puzzled by this request. Said she thought he was doing something in the brewery and thought she wouldn't bother him. She said "all of our chefs back in the kitchen are great." but didn't go any further and offer any of them to be creative with a pizza for me. I realize I'm nobody, but as one who has been on that side, anytime I could be creative I would revel at the chance. After some wait, we we all ready to order. We asked if we could. Our server said, "She's busy right now" confusing us as to who was actually or waitress. Turns out she was waiting on a bottle of beer that on of our party had ordered before she took our order. The pizza was good. I settled on a Rueben-style pizza. The others had a classic. It all tasted fine. Was it the best pizza I'd ever had. No. Satisfactory is the best I can describe it. Thus this review. I read of the Pizza Chef regularly in the news and I wanted something I never had before, something I couldn't Imagine, or ingredients put together I wouldn't have thought of. I was ready to sing the praises with a good review of a local restaurant to which thousands could read from afar and celebrate the business. But it was just another day in Watertown. I realize the availability of ingredients on hand could have been limited but I was ready for pretty much anything. I thought he has to come up with competition pizzas somehow. Anyway I may try again in the future. I've had their other menu items, and they...
Read moreI ventured into Dempsey’s Brewery Restaurant this evening and thought I had teleported to the Renaissance Era as soon as I stepped in. As soon as I got in, I was treated like a king in his castle. I was promptly seated at the nearest table (the king doesn’t like to walk too far). Soon after I was greeted by the best server this side of the Mississippi. Catie R swiftly took me through the menu and said, “what may I get started for you, your highness?”. I was so taken aback that I told her that I needed a little extra time. After a few minutes of crucial decision making, I decided on the king pepperoni pizza. I didn’t even have to wave her down, it was like Catie was in my head because she was right there as soon as I decided. Not long after, I was eating a delicious pie while I gazed upon the peasants around me. I even got crazy and got a side of ranch that the host gladly got for me (talk about a great team atmosphere!) Soon after I had finished my meal, and like something out of a supernatural movie, Catie was there to ask what else she could help me with. Whatever she is getting paid here, it’s not enough! Although her service was great, you could tell that her eyes glisten from the ghosts of her past. Needless to say, I had a great experience at Dempsey’s and if you ever eat here request Catie, you will feel...
