Updating this review from 2021. Three years ago I first visited the Dawg House. It was early afternoon and it was just me, Eric, and the bartender. Fast forward three years later and things are even better. The menu is excellent. The appetizers are inexpensive and sharable, the loaded sidewinder fries are my favorite. The burgers are excellent. There are many selections but my go to is the Triple Option. The Southwest salad is a good meal if you are looking for something on the lighter side. Lastly the beer and bourbon is great. The beer is cold and the bourbon selection is very good. Overall this is a go-to neighborhood bar and restaurant where the owner and wait staff are not only invested in the business but in the customer. Eric tries to introduce himself to everyone who comes in and the wait staff are friendly and attentive. I almost forgot to mention the entertainment. Eric books the areas best bands and always has a packed house full of energy.
If you are in the Elyria area or even if you're not. Plan a trip to the Dawg House and have a great time.
First time but not my last time visiting. Good atmosphere and drink selection. Limited menu during COVID but the food we had was great. ...
Read moreNever got our food after being there for over an hour. Won't be back. We had four different people come to us and never got our food. The table next to us asked for their food to go because they had waited so long. We just kept being told that they were short staffed. Maybe if the one person was worried about service instead of handing out business cards to everyone it would have been good. We were told since it was our first time its not normally like this, but why would you come back after waiting almost an hour and a half and still waiting on your appetizer, let alone your meal. We want to Don Tequilas and got more food in the first two minutes than we did here in 90 minutes. We were in and out of this restaurant after food and a drink around 30 minutes. The Dawg House just wasted our evening out is all for time. The sad part is this review won't be looked at because of all the good reviews there are on here. It was that bad though to never want to go back. I even checked my Google timeline to make sure this was an honest review...
Read moreThis was my first time going here and also eating. Good environment... nice people... totally that small hometown bar feel. I could see if people knew you as a regular it would have the feeling of an Old Cheers tv episode where everyone knows your name. Food was great. I came on a Tuesday which is Burger Night. I have to say this was one of the times that I've gone somewhere and my burger was cooked PERFECTLY. I got to keto the youngman who made my Burger and his name was Shamus. Super nice guy and very humble. I also got to meet the owner Eric... also a very genuine guy and just has a big personality to follow. It was refreshing to see an owner actually involved with customers. My only " Minor" and I mean minor complaint is that the chairs are cut a little funny and hit weird on the back of my legs. Now I am 5'7 so not super tall...but outside of that. Nothing else to complain about. Will for...
