Brother and I decided to head here after a day of fishing. This place used to be China One. WOW. The food was incredible, everything was clean, fresh and hot. We went at 6pm, they weren’t super busy. Tables are very spread out which is awesome! They have so much to choose from, way more then any other Chinese style buffet I’ve went too, this place rivals Golden Corral with the shear amount of volume. They have a sushi bar and even a grill station where you fill your bowl and a chef cooks it in front of you. What stood out most to me was the dessert section. The dishes tasted fresh and home made (in a good way) the grapes tasted like grapes and not that waxy/weird buffet taste. If you have kids they will for sure enjoy it. The ice cream comes in their individual containers as well, loved that. We had great service. The only thing I think they need to change is the water feature when you first walk in. It used to be filled with koi, this place has it as a wishing well. Cool, however, it makes the place rather muggy/pool feeling. Brother said it reminded him of eating at the water park. I thought the same. It’s not terrible by any means but it definitely did feel dewey. If I were them I would turn it into a garden with ornamental trees and maybe just a small...
Read moreWe had gone literally probably 5 times since they opened and it was amazing! Tonight we decided to go and there was literally nothing on the buffet almost. I always start with the raw bar where they make it for you on the grill so I went over there, while there was no one behind the counter I figured I'd get my food ready. I finished building my plate and stood there for about 5-7 minutes before deciding to walk away and just start a hot plate. Only scraps were left. I ate some white rice which had become rock hard at this point and some mushrooms. Walked back up and my plate was still sitting there so I decided to wait with it a bit more. Saw an employee eat food from the buffet and sushi bar without paying any mind to me. Then a worker came out with plates I said hello and he pushed his hands like calm down. He sends out a young kid who quickly RINSES his hands and then proceeds to start making my food with WET HANDS. I told the waitress to take me off of the bill. I don't know what happened this place was great when it first opened. And if the rude guy behind me happens to read this literally mind your own business next time you don't always have to be a hero you don't know...
Read moreMy family n I were weekend regulars at The New Chinatown Buffet and missed it tremendously! Once we heard they were reopening under new name we made sure to try it out the first chance we had.i must say we were extremely upset that the food was bland and service was terrible! We asked for refills even after it took the waitress 20 mins to even get our drinks, sure acknowledged our refills but never received them. New Chinatown Buffet offered a wide range of seafood too like whole shrimp seasoned and fried to a perfect crispy shell, crab legs seasoned with butter and a butter option for the dip, large mussels and last but not least our family favorite is the seafood casserole nice n creamy to top our fried rice! I do hope to see upgrades in the service and food choices! Being a large family of 6 although the pricing was good, the food definitely was not and were extremely disappointed. We haven't been back since but plan to try it again soon and maybe it can be a better experience, because we'd like to be regulars again and share with our family the numerous years we shared at New Chinatown Buffet !! Good luck and I hope changes...
