Steak ’n Shake — Restaurant in Sheffield

First the good-- the waitress was fine and the food was ok, wait time for how busy it was- was not bad. Now the bad, ketchup bottle was empty, floor was nasty, had a party of five and when I went to pay they did not take off our discounts and the cashier was rude. Bought 2 shakes before leaving and they forgot to make them for us. Standing there waiting and the cashier that took the order for the shakes and took the money asked if I had been helped yet. YES BY YOU! I did not get mad I just simply said I am waiting on our shakes and she asked what kind of shakes ( you took the order how do you not know?) I told her and she made them. This is the second time I have tried them and I don't think there will be a third. Contrary to popular belief there is other restaurants in Elyria. The first time I tried them I was ordering a meal for my son and had a coupon, I added a drink and she said thats not part of the deal. I told her thats ok I will pay for it, she said no- thats not part of the deal, I said OK but my son still needs something to drink I WILL PAY FOR THE DRINK SEPARATE JUST GIVE HIM SOMETHING TO DRINK, she said thats not part of the coupon. REALLY!!!! WHAT IS SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND ABOUT THIS. ADD A DRINK TO THE ORDER AND ADD THE PRICE TO THE BILL ITS NOT THAT HARD TO FIGURE OUT! And by the way I did not get the discount on the food that time either, every time I go there I pay full price, they never give me the discount, I ask and when I am out the door I look at the receipt and add it all up and no discount. It took me several tries to place my order. I then call to notify them that I am there and no answer. I then go in to let them know I am here. There are 4 workers that I can see working, 3 males and 1 female, in which her name was McKenzie. I wait at entrance to be called upon. All 4 employees looked at me several times with no acknowledgment. A DoorDash rep came in and was taken care of prior to me and still not a word said to me. I patiently wait and nothing. I then ask McKenzie if I could ask her a question when she was done with DoorDash rep she acknowledged and went back to the back of restaurant telling everyone that she messed up on the DoorDash order and if anyone wants a shake. All staff said yes and she said she will make them one. In the meantime she never came back to talk to me. I am also noticing no one changing their gloves and touching multiple objects and employees making food for themselves and still not waiting on me. Other customers come in and none of us greeted or waited on. The employee in the grill then comes out to start cleaning dining area and still not saying anything to any of us. I said hey can you see if you have an order for Heidi ready as I tried to call but no one answered. He didn’t answer me but went behind counter and grabbed a bag and asked McKenzie if my milkshakes were done. He then brings me my order. I waited for 30 minutes, was ignored the whole time and had to initiate everything. Drive through was closed as well as a broken entrance door. Worst experience ever! Will never go back being treated like that!...

I wish these reviews would let us choose less than one star. If you want a dinning experience that reminds you how far down hill Elyria has gone, this is the perfect place to go. Where to start... the midnight staff has no manners. They don’t come off as friendly. My friend ordered the chicken nuggets & I attempted to order the 5-way chili. I understand being out of things, but why accept my order only to go into the back where I can hear you ask if y’all are still out of noodles... Is the staff that lazy that they can’t walk to the back, before they take my menu away, to ask if y’all are out of something when she clearly knew they had been out? She comes back to the table & says they’re out of noodles. Okay, so bring me a menu back & give me a moment to look. Instead she just hovered over me looking & made me feel so rushed to order. We both ended up with the chicken tenders - those were good. My friend clearly asked for ketchup with hers as there was not a bottle on our table. Waitress did not bring ketchup. I had to get her attention again & rather than walking it around to the side of the table, she reached over the booth, over my shoulder & practically through it on our table. Our milkshake glasses were coated in whatever was on the counter that was clearly dirty where they made the shakes. I could see into the kitchen at how dirty everything was.
