Humphry Slocombe Bay Street — Restaurant in Emeryville

Came here June 20 around 5:20 PM. Whoever that guy was working, was very rude. Zero customer service, there’s only 2 flavors available yet have a sign outside with all flavors. Seems like it’s a “chor” when someone comes in. I have kindly asked if I could have an extra cup a larger than 1 scoop since i’m driving home and it might melt and spill in the car. This is what he told me “sorry can”t give you a larger cup its only for double scoop because the big cups cost more and these cups are expensive”. Humphry Slocombe is a Bay Area institution at this point and this one is in line with other locations. Personally, I find the flavors here to be hit or miss so it may take a while to find something you’ll like. The space is kinda weird but staff is usually super nice. I’m really glad theres finally an ice cream shop on Bay Street and it’s much needed for the area, but of all the SF chains to cross the bay, it’s too bad it had to be this one.

The ice cream left a lot to be desired. They didn’t have any waffle cones, which was a big bummer. I got a peanut butter chocolate swirl type ice cream w/barely any PB flavor. The bourbon ice cream was similar to a sweeter corn flake milk type ice cream, it was good. I was expecting creamy and velvety texture by the look of the ice cream, but that is not what I got. Pretty much a let down in the realm of ice cream. The view from outside the shop was pretty, and they have some nice seating arrangements outside...
