Philz Coffee — Restaurant in Emeryville

I've been coming to this location since it opened. The staff is one of the main reasons I keep coming back. They are friendly, kind and provide great service. I really like that most of them know my name and can remember it when I walk in. This location is spacious and clean. Most times, in the morning M-F there is little to no people. So, it's a great place for people to work and enjoy a quiet atmosphere. I always get the Mocha Tesora when I come in. I really like the quality of Philz coffee. This Philz coffee offers excellent drinks; the mint coffee is delicious, and this is coming from someone who doesn't usually enjoy coffee. They don't have many non-caffeinated tea options, so I usually order their chamomile tea garnished with mint.

The pastries and burritos are decent, although I do wish they had more nutritious snacks like vegetable quiches (Starbuck’s harvest quiche for instance is pretty good) , sandwiches, or salads.

The music played in the coffee shop is loud and features dated pop music, which isn't very pleasant to my ears and doesn't quite match its nice interior. This makes it less conducive to remote work. I wish they could play more...

Update: I waited a month and tried again to the same disappointment. Over 30 minutes for 1 drink, and it wasn’t even what I ordered. This place is too expensive to have this poor of service. The new “manager” needs to get her team in line or get a new one. It’s faster to go to Starbucks across the street.

This place has gone down hill with new employees. I used to come here without issue. Yessenia is useless behind the counter and rude toward customers. I ordered online, waited for almost an hour, reminded them they hadn’t made my order, waited 10 more minutes, and then finally left as they still hadn’t started it. So...
