I went to Antioch Saturday around 5:45pm and asked for a table for 3. Keep in mined the restaurant was half empty with two tables of 4 available and many tables of two which can be easily combined. The waitress asked me do you have a reservation I said no so she looks on the computer and gives me a table for 4 in the corner next to the bathroom not set up like the other tables and with no table light like the other tables. Like she is telling me this is where you can eat because you did not make a reservation. I sit down while I can see people going in and out of the bathroom. I noticed that this table is probably used for take out orders but not for dining or else it would have been set up like the other tables..I didn't say anything because I assumed all the other tables were reserved. She gives us the menus and because there was no table light on our table It was dark to see the menu. She comes to take our order and I asked can I please have a table light like all the other tables. So she took a light from another table and gave it to me. I ordered something I had several months ago chicken kebob that was delicious back then. When I got the kebob this time the chicken was very red in color something I do not remember seeing . As I am eating the chicken I notice the flavor was not the same it was loaded with paprika. I asked the waitress do you have a new chef she said no but I believe they are new owners and food is different. Did not like my food at all. Well two hours later we finished our meal around 7:30 or so we noticed no one came to sit down on the empty tables that were available when we came in plus other tables were getting up the same time we got up freeing more tables. To me that is poor management. We could of easily sat down away from the bathroom with a table that is not used for dining and had a better dining experience. When she took my check and paid with cash she opened to see the amount and asked if I wanted change back I said yes and at the end left her 18% tip. I usually tip 22 to 25% but she deserved 10% from me but do not have the heart to do that. After all said me personally I will not be returning to this restaurant. In the future I hope they learn from this review and make better choices for...

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Last night marked our inaugural visit to Antioch, and what an unexpected delight it turned out to be! Nestled conveniently near the Bergen Performing Arts Center, this restaurant surpassed our expectations in every aspect.
From the moment we stepped in, the warmth and attentiveness of the staff stood out. Their genuine hospitality set a welcoming tone for the evening, making us feel right at home.
Our culinary journey commenced with the Shepherd's Salad, a refreshing blend of flavors and textures heightened by the crispness of the parsley. Followed by the Falafel Plate, a savory appetizer that proved to be a delightful precursor to the main course.
Speaking of which, both the Chicken Kebab and the Chicken Adana were exemplary dishes, boasting succulence and expert seasoning. Each bite was a testament to the chef's skill and dedication to quality.
The complimentary bread, served hot and fresh, was a delightful accompaniment to our meal, further enhancing the dining experience.
And let's not forget about dessert – the Baklava was nothing short of heavenly. Its flaky layers and rich sweetness left us craving for more, prompting a return visit after the concert for an additional order that disappeared all too quickly.
To top it off, the Turkish Coffee provided a perfect ending to our culinary adventure, complete with the novelty of my wife doing the grinds reading, adding an extra layer of charm to the evening.
Overall, our experience at Antioch was nothing short of exceptional. Not only did the food surpass our expectations, but the genuine care and kindness exhibited by the staff made it a truly memorable occasion. We're already looking forward to our next visit, and it's safe to say that Antioch has earned itself a permanent spot on our list of favorite dining destinations....
Read moreMy experience here was pretty good, with some room for improvement; that said I did leave satisfied which is the main goal. The bread they brought out for the table was quite good and easy to share. I also like the menu items; one side of the menu was more traditional while the other side had more mainstream foods such as burgers and pizzas. We started with the calamari which was good, but there was not much of it served. It was more of an individual appetizer portion rather than one to share, but the quality was good. I ordered the beef Gyro which comes with rice and a salad. Of course I do not want a salad, so I asked if I could substitute that with extra rice and they allowed it. I appreciate this because options for sides are important when you are dealing with someone like me, who does not eat greens. The meat was tender and good; similarly to the calamari, I would have liked to see a bit more food on the plate for the price charged because it was around 25-28 bucks. If I compare it to other mediterranean places that serve platters, the portion is a bit low. That said, the quality was there. They also brought out a few of their sauces which went great with the food; my favorite was their white sauce. One thing I did not like was the fact that there were no free soda refills; they gave me a choice between a can or a bottle which means refills are not going to be complimentary. This affected my experience as I was carefully rationing my drink throughout the meal. I highly recommend getting a fountain soda machine and offering free refills not only does it taste better, but it is much easier. Overall as I said, the quality of the food was good and I did not leave very hungry which is a plus. I may come back and check out some of the other food here. Nice job on the meat and rice; just don’t be afraid to load...
