I had a good experience at Jaehee shopping for and finding my dress. I give the biggest praise to the stylist, Bonita. She listened to what I was looking for, pulled so many great options for me, was personable, knowledgeable, and never once went above my budget or felt pushy at all. She was a pleasure to work with.
The low review is for the rest of my experience with this store. I said yes to my dress here and had it ordered in January 2024 for a January 2025 wedding. At the time of ordering they said my dress would be expected in August. In early July, my mom called to follow up and just make sure everything was on track. She was told my dress is arriving in the first or second week of August. Towards the end of July I called to check in again, and this time I was told my dress is on track to arrive mid to late October. I was shocked because my mom was told twice by phone first or second week of August. No one ever notified us it was delayed to October. We explained this and were told by Jaehee staff that they have no idea why we were ever told first/second week of August, and that it was always set to be for mid-October due to my wedding date. After a frustrating back and forth, and the manager agreeing to reach out to the designer to expedite the dress, the new arrival date was set to 10/2 or earlier.
9/30 we called to check in and we were told it's still on track for 10/2. On 10/2 no one ever called us. My mom called in and was given attitude and told it's only 2pm, it's not the end of day, and that they'll call us and email us when it's in. On 10/3 end of day I called and was told it's still not in but tracking shows it's still on track to be delivered within the week. On 10/4 end of day I called and was told "Yeah it's here". I informed them I never got a call or an email that it arrived, and we have been waiting. They said it's been here and that it was with alterations getting the lining put in. I asked if they could please hold off on adding the lining until I try it on, so I can make sure I like the color and we can agree on where I want the lining to start. She called me back 10 minutes later and said that they already started the lining and are pretty far into it so it is too late.
On 10/9 I went to pick up/try on my dress. It was not lined. The lining fabric they showed me had raw edges and stains. There was additional fabric in a plastic bag. I informed the staff member that I was told it was at alterations getting lined ahead of my try-on appointment. She had no idea why I was told that as the dress was unlined. Ultimately, my dress is in good condition and I took everything home and will be doing my alterations elsewhere. The following day I got a call that alterations actually did the lining and added the buttons and hooks to the inside of my dress so the lining is ready to be attached anytime.
Staff at Jaehee are friendly and personable for fittings and sales, but ultimately, no one is on the same page when it comes to a customer's order, and as a bride this is incredibly frustrating. I got different information from different people at every step of this process over the last 9 months. Lastly, there is a lack of accountability and ownership with the missteps and miscommunications. They may have felt micromanaged by my mom and I calling for updates regularly, but we wouldn't have to if they had more consistent communication.
I wouldn't recommend purchasing a dress here due to the headache they caused in the post-purchase process, and because of this I am also doing my...
Read moreI hate to be in a situation to give two stars because much of the experience has been great - they have an incredibly wide selection which helps you narrow in your purchase.
This is a warning to other brides to either take your business elsewhere or at the very least validate ABSOLUTELY everything about the dress and take notes on the order of what was agreed to.
I bought a dress that the sales consultant Bonita helped me select. I wasn’t happy with the color so she told me that it could come in ivory. There was a top and bottom of the dress. Before purchasing, I confirmed multiple times that if I updated the skirt to ivory that the top would also be in ivory. She said yes. My parents who were with my remember. And Bonita in a text message also confirmed this was her assumption that the dress would be ivory.
When purchasing, the only questions they asked me to confirm was 1. Size I wanted (which they won’t consult you on) and 2. If I wanted a rush delivery.
Fast forward to now. I receive the dress and immediately say this isn’t what I ordered. The bottom was ivory. The top the same as I tried at the store, a nude. It looked terrible and two toned.
The alterations My daughters has been so freaking incredible. They reviewed two options to make the dress match WHAT I WAS TOLD was being ordered. The cheaper option costing nearly half the cost of the dress.
I immediately went to Jaehee to get them engaged. They were very friendly and researched. They learned that the dress cannot be ordered as we had thought and I needed to talk to Bonita to find out what happened. She texted me “I’m really sorry for the miscommunication. When we placed the order I was under the assumption also that the dress was coming ivory ivory nude with the assumption the dress was going to be ivory. The only solution to fix this problem is unfortunately rebuilding the top.”.
I asked to speak to a manager to have them simply cover the alterations to make the dress acceptable (I even went with the cheapest option to achieve what was an acceptable - not a two toned dress. It still won’t be what they had sold to me because they - to Bonita’s point - would need to rebuild the top completely).
After waiting 4 days to talk to a manager (my wedding planner ended up having the conversation because I was busy) - They then denied the miscommunication. Said it was my fault. Showed me online that the dress couldn’t come the way it was described (but they didn’t show me the website before I ordered, I trusted them as my sales consultant to consult me and answer questions accurately).
The alterations team felt bad and took a hit, giving me a minor discount on the work.
Very disappointed they didn’t...
Read moreI picked going here because they had the designers I was interested in trying and it was easier than going into Manhattan. I spoke to someone when I made my appointment and gave them a list of 5 specific dresses I wanted and the designers I was interested in looking at. I had family from out of town with me to go to this appointment and when I get there not even 1 of the dresses I said I wanted to try were there. Not only were none of the specific dresses I wanted to try at the store they didn't even have any dresses by any of those designers. The website is complete bullshit. They mostly had Essence of Australia dresses in the store to try. It was very upsetting and the worst part is I ended up getting a dress there that day bc my family specially came from out of town to be part of the experience of me picking out my wedding dress and they weren't going to be able to come another day. I knew exactly what I was looking for and was so specific and clear when I called the store and told them what I wanted to try on and what I was interested in. The ethical and good way to conduct business is to be honest with people and say you don't carry those designers or dresses in the shop so you don't waste someone's time. I am pretty sure I am not the only sucker who this happened to and then got stuck buying a dress there that they didn't even want or love. This just happened recently I would do anything in the world for the store to see this and say here's your money back since I'm sure they didn't even order it yet!!! I doubt they will do that or even care if they ever read this. I am going to go out my way to make sure people know not to even bother wasting their time going there. I want every bride to know you will just get duped if you go there and the best part was when I was at the register they wanted me to give a tip to the girl in the dressing room!!! why would I tip the girl who didn't have any of the dresses I...
