Today we were able to have lunch with our friends Dave and Nancy. They took us to a Peruvian Restaurant that recently opened in Englewood. The establishment was very clean and the decor was nicely done. We got there after the lunch hour so we had the place all to ourselves which was nice. We began by ordering the Passion Fruit drink which was a perfect balance between sweet and tangy. It was very refreshing on a hot summer day. Dave ordered the Conchas A La Parmesana which is Scallops in white sauce, minced garlic with Parmesan Cheese. The Cheese over powered the taste of the dish and the scallops were very small. Overall, I would order them again because I like cheese and rather enjoyed them. Dave & Sharon ordered the Ceviche with Seafood. My wife (Sharon) felt that the Ceviche had a bit to much citrus in it, but overall she enjoyed it. Dave always get this dish when him and Nancy eat there. He really enjoyed his meal. Nancy and I both ordered the Lomo Saltado. This is Peru's traditional flambéed with fresh vegetables and skirt steak. It came with rice and French fries. The dish had a wonderful flavor and the steak was very tender. The rice and fries were good but I really only need one starch, but apparently this is how the dishes are served in South American. The servers were very polite, attentive and helpful. This made the dining experience even more enjoyable. They have a dessert menu, but only had Vanilla Ice Cream available. This was disappointing so we did not get any dessert. Overall, this dining experience and the food was delightful. Thank you Dave and Nancy for a wonderful experience for Sharon and I.

We tried Llama House in Englewood, NJ. The place was huge and very clean. The canchas (roasted appetizer corn) were on point and not burnt. The waitress was ok but not overly warm and friendly. She brought out the menus but did not contribute the Special Lunch Menu for the day, until we requested it. We got the fried fish and the chicken. I thought the waitress said “rotisserie chicken “ but when the food came out, it was some type of very crispy fried chicken. The chicken tasted fine, but not what I wanted. The salad was salty and too vinagre. Other than that, the food was good. We go to another Peruvian Restaurant where the rice always comes out with some type of legumes and at times ceviche is on the Special of the Day Menu. We were never asked if we wanted dessert or coffee. The restaurant only had 3 tables occupied including us, then we were the only customers there towards the end. The waitress became a little more interested when I started taking pictures for this review and I told her that I was writing a review for the restaurant. Overall, it was okay but we’ll go elsewhere for Peruvian cuisine.

I usually drive to Clifton or Passaic to get Peruvian food and it’s looks like I will continue to do just that. The food here is not good. The chicken soup was horrible. I didn’t like the linguine noodles that was used and the tomatoes in the soup also a no. The fried yucca was not good properly. Half cooked, still tough. The chaufa was okay. The chicken had no seasoning. Cooked properly but zero seasoning to it. Llama house reminded me of Peruvian food I had in Florida. That was not good either. Even the green sauce I wasn’t a fan of. Didn’t taste like authentic Peruvian food. I usually order chicken soup and fried yucca with half chicken from other places for $24. Here chicken soup and 1/2 chicken with chaufa and 5 yucca was $36. Oh the place is beautiful. I wish the food was good because I would have come back to sit and eat. The service is amazing also. Everything was great but the food

I ordered via DoorDash for pickup for my lunch break, and was given an estimated pickup time of approximately 25 minutes from my order time. At no point in this online process was I given warning that the single roast chicken dish I ordered was made-to-order, and there would be an additional wait time.

When I arrived at the restaurant to pick up my food, I was informed that the dish I ordered takes an hour to prepare. It was unexpected because that is an exorbitant wait time for a restaurant. I was told to return in 40 minutes by the host on staff.

I returned 40 minutes later and was ignored by the staff, despite their only serving one table in the entire establishment at the time. I approached the staff and asked about my order, and was told it would not be ready for an additional 35 minutes.

This was an order placed online at 11:50 AM, and ready for pickup at 1:40 PM. I don’t believe any diner, in-person or takeout, would find an almost 2 hour wait time acceptable.

I don’t understand why this item is on the menu or available to be ordered online without warning of a long wait time. I was unable to eat this meal during my scheduled break and instead had to heat it up later. I had to make 3 separate trips to the restaurant to get the food I paid for.

I don’t usually leave reviews but this was an incredibly...
