Good atmosphere, staff seemed really nice, menu was small, which I like...means that everything should be perfect. Love that there is breakfast all day. And they are very accommodating to the kids. Thats enough for 3 stars. I dont go out for good service, i go out for good food. Prices are a bit high for what you get. The breakfast burrito was 15$. I didn't get it, but for 15 bucks it better be the best burrito ever. The reason for my low stars was the food. Ingredients were fresh, but the flavor of everything was very bland. We started with chimichanga rolls, which were good, but the taco meat was bland. I had the special which was a pork chop on mashed potatoes with a 'green chile apple chutney'. The pork chop was juicy and cooked well, but was bland. The mashed potatoes were mashed potatoes. And the chutney, which intrigued me and why i ordered it, was simply raw chunky cut green apples and what looked like diced hatch green chiles from a can. It was not a chutney and seemed like an afterthought. Took me by surprise when i saw it. My wife got tacos and ate half of one. All her meat was cooked well, but they were all just very bland. The kids split a burger that we ordered medium and came out closer to rare. Again, very bland. They also had a side of chips that tasted fishy, not sure what that means. All in all, my wife and I were bummed. We wanted to find another go-to spot and based on reviews were excited. We both agreed it was a meal we could have made at home, which is not what you want on a night out for $60+. Chef came out to greet and asked if the pork chop was cooked well. Very nice guy. I told him it was and was very juicy but didn't expand on my criticisms. So 4/4 bland meals. We may try it again for breakfast for dinner, but we'll spend 3 times as much as IHOP and are risking the same quality of meal and kids...
Read moreAfter hearing from friends and seeing the great reviews on Nextdoor, my wife, daughter and Idecided to give Outpost Eatery a go. After the owner Fabian seated us, he spent a few minutes going over the menu and some of his recommendations. Good selection of beers on tap (always look for the local brews...) and some creative and interesting cocktails on the menu. Fabian has won awards for his mixology, and definitely knows his stuff. Will try next time. But, the wings. Oh, man, the wings. Go here if not for anything else. Hands down the best in town. Fully cooked on the smoker and finished in the fryerâcrispy on the outside and smoky and tender on the inside. We got the red pepper dry rub and the tangy Asian. The burgers are right up there with the wings, though. Donât know how they do it, but the burgers were also just a bit crispy on the outside, too. Cooked just right. Fabian took the time to tell us the story of this local business, and gave us a tour of the whole establishment. He has a great business modelâdevoting a portion of the building to renting office space to local companies and having a business-friendly environment. So encouraging to see an ambitious family on the road to success. Support local business and give Outpost Eatery a try. We love it and will be...
Read moreFirst visit to the this new establishment, and it was a memorable experience. We got a to chat with the owner about his vision for a craft-style neighborhood restaurant/bar. Our visit really helped us to see this vision. My wife had the huevos rancheros, which she said was very good. I had the breakfast burrito, smothered half red half green. This is one of the most delicious breakfast burritos I have ever had, and is a unique approach. The bacon inside is just perfect and smoked on their in-house smoker, combining with absolutely perfect crunchy home fries, eggs, and a creamy cheddar sauce to tie it all together with the spices and jack cheeses. I can't decide if I liked the hearty green chili or the full bodied and smoky red sauce, they were both delicious! I also have to note that this went great with the house coffee which, for $4, is definitely as good as it had better be! We also split the Espresso martini, which is a craft vodka combined with Bailey's and very flavorful Espresso, definitely would recommend! We are looking forward to returning for some custom-batch whiskey and cocktails, and I really want to try the wings that they cook on the smoker too, just going to have to decide which flavor to try first......
