I love this restaurant, by far the best green chili and salsa, but they have finally raised their prices to where I can't afford to eat there anymore.
Before everything 'got expensive', their lunch special was $9.99 for a smothered burrito, rice, beans, small bag of chips and salsa and a drink. It slowly creeped up, to $12.99, then they got rid of the iced tea, then they got rid of the chips and salsa! Now have pay $6 for a small bag of chips (they are good) and some salsa.
I talked with the owner and understood that food prices are much higher, he said they have come down, not to where they were a few years ago, as it is normal
I got their lunch special and small bag of chips and salsa that cost $21!!! this was for their 'lunch special' - we are talking about a simple burrito, with chicken, green chili, beans and rice - the cheapest ingredients. Plus, the chips and salsa.
In other words, it has basically doubled in price, and I did not get the feeling there is any intention to lowering those prices anytime soon. I understand restaurants have very thin margins, but I guess losing business because it is too expensive is not a good combination.
they also used to have a loyalty card, 10 meals, next one free, that is gone, or they sent a coupon that if you spent $15, you got a discount - that is gone.
Like I said, I love their food and probably will just go buy their salsa and green chili but can't afford or justify...
Read moreToday I placed an order on Eatstreet, my first time using this service. I picked up at the designated time and was on my way.
Unfortunately there were no utensils included. Additionally the guacamole which I paid for was not added in.
I called and spoke to an attendant explained the situation I told her that it was having my go out of my way to pick up something that should already be included. I did say I wanted to be reimbursed. I arrived at the restaurant and was very rudely and poorly treated. I was informed that when using Eatstreet I needed to specify that I wanted utensils included. What in the world? Since when? Is this really written somewhere.
She seemed to shrug it off and not to care.
Very poor service and obviously I as aguest do not matter. I only spent 9.25, I paid for items not included in my order( guac) and had to return.
Maybe a refresher to the staff on kindness and how to treat guests is in order.
I would like a call back from Saul. I called the location on County Line and left my info. In the grand scheme of things it probably won't matter something so insignificant but at least show me that the manager and owners will reflect and acknowledge that the treatment and service left a lot to be...
Read moreI absolutely love Mexican food and I love trying new restaurants to see who's the best. I don't know if I'm picky or if most places really just aren't that good but finding Mi Cocina was like finding the needle in the haystack! I've probably been there about five or six times and I've tried something different each time. Not ONCE have I had something that I didn't devour. Every dish is cooked perfectly and all of the different tastes go together so well. Their beef is never dry, their rellenos are never tough, and their salsa is fantastic. I don't know what it is but if the chips/salsa isn't that good when I first sit down, I feel like I know exactly how the entree is going to be and Mi Cocina is delicious on all accounts! I wish I hadn't moved thirty minutes away because I'd go here every week if I could!
Everyone there is also very nice. The two waitresses that I always dealt with were great. I think my only complaint is that the place is very small! If I had to take a guess, it probably seats no more than around 25-30 people. Luckily it was never too crowded...
